Selling my Dakota. Has 200 rounds through each barrel. 416 shoots 1/2 moa with Barnes TSX. Didn't shoot 338 a lot but in a small bit of shooting it was 3/4-1 moa with barnes 225 ttsx. I have no experience with 338 so that could probably be improved upon. EXIHIBITION grade wood, gun is in awesome condition

Comes with:

Redding bushing dies for both calibers
100 pieces of once fired Norma brass
300 pieces of 338 Papua (lapua brass)
300 barnes ttsx 225 grain bullets
50 Hornady ELD 285 grain match bullets
Leopold vx 6 1x6 w/fire or illumination
2 sets of Talley QD 30 mm rings
100 Hornady 400 grain DGX bullets
50 400 gr Barnes TSX
20 Barnes banded solid. (I have load data for 416, tsx and solids shoot within 1" at 100 yds)

Thinking $7k........

PM me if interested

I pretty well know what the rifle looks like, but many don't. You will need to post pics of the rifle for any seriously interested buyer. Good Luck!

Also, it sounds like this may be a switch barrel rifle. Some information on that would be helpful to buyers. Switch or not, and what is involved.

1 screw and it's a quick barrel switch.

Scopes hold zero after switch

A young couple I had the privilege of meeting on my 2018 Africa trip had one in 375 H&H. It was one handsome well made rifle!

If I had not switched my allegiance to Blaser I'd take it. An interesting and sensible caliber combination, and at an unbelievable price.

Excellent price for the quality of the rifle!

Just saw this rifle about 1 hour ago, one barrel in .400 H&H and no scope brand new. Hanging tag was over $10,000. So someone needs to buy now if remotely interested!

Wonderful rifle!

I'm selling this gun because I'm having another 416 made. I ran across an original Rigby action circa 1910 in great shape. I used the 416 for plains game and carried my 450/400 for bigger stuff. I initially thought the 416 was a bit much for plains game, but it ended up being an excellent choice. Flat enough for 200 yard shots and big enough that if you run into something big....elephant or buff it will handle the job.

I used it to collect bait for a leopard hunt....meaning I used it quite a bit. I shot 4 zebras, 12 impala, and an eland. This gun has a mercury recoil reducer which makes it relatively pleasant to shoot in that kind of scenario. Incidentally I did run into a shooter buffalo whilst out collecting baits and it was nice to have a gun of that size to take care of that. Worked well on leopard as well.

I've been drooling over this beautiful rifle since I first saw it on GB.
And if I had the coin, I would relieve you of it.

I wanted to thank you for offering the membership here considerable savings over the GB price.
Class move.

It's an awesome gun. Would keep it but the Rigby action I found was just too cool not to grab and build with. Just simply cant justify 2 416's

If I were a practical thinking man, this would be the way to go for a do all safari set up! If I didn’t have to dig between the cushions of the couch to just pay attention right now I would have her in my safe!

+1
I'm gonna have to start reloading to drop my ammo costs so I can buy another gun.
Trying to explain spending money to save money to my Department of Finance will sound like most political BS - plain crap.
UNAPPROVED stamp to follow.

Where's that lottery ticket...

I’m interested, in Oklahoma right now on whitetail hunt, be back in office Tuesday 865-548-3807, Brucefox

After this move, which I still haven't completed, but I am in Arkansas, we must have bought our sofas at the same furniture store!
