I am needing some advice. Has anyone upgraded their CZ with American Hunting Rifles? I am going to Africa in August of 2019 and am wondering if this is something I should look into doing. Thanks for any advice you may give. Regards

AHR does a fantastic job with these rifles, i highly recommend them. i had them build me a 505 Gibbs using a CZ 550 action and that rifle served me very well on my cape buffalo hunt.

AHR did the full modification, which I think is level three, on two CZ 550 rifles for me. The work is outstanding and makes a good rifle a great rifle. Nobody knows the CZ better than Wayne.

While I haven't had work done by Wayne (yet), he comes highly recommended by the folks here on AH. I will say, having been in email contact with him recently discussing future projects, the turnaround time for his work seems to be quite good. Best of luck on your trip next year.

Wayne is shipping a #3 upgrade to me in the next week or so on a CZ 550 in 375 H&H. I’ll post pics when it arrives.

Any upgrade package from Wayne includes tuning and smoothing of the action so it feeds and functions every time. I really like the 3 position safety on the bolt shroud and the filled and straightened bolt handle feels better to me than the factory. The CZ factory set trigger is a matter of personal taste can be kept if you like. I had one 550 that I could never get quite right in the unset mode. I do like the set trigger for bench work developing hand loads if it is smooth enough when not used in set mode. I think you will be very pleased with any of the work that you decide to have done by Wayne.

I really appreciate the write back. It sounds like I need to go ahead and “pull the trigger” and send it in for the modifications. Thanks!

I had the #2 AHR upgrade completed on my LH CZ 375HH... excellent work!!!

How does the rifle function as is? No problems? Then save the money for extra critters!

I have a CZ in .416 Rigby. I have had nothing done to it. It shoots perfect, no issues. I would definitely shoot it a bunch. Hopefully you got .416, .375 rounds only make Buffs angry. :)

The Buff in my avatar was killed by a AHR upgraded 375 H&H, he never got angry, just got dead. Will be taking a fully modified CZ 375 H&H by Wayne to Mozambique this September to try for another Buffalo and Plains Game. Wayne does good work, give him a try

Lol, I'm not going down that path! What part of Moz? That's where I got the Buff in my avatar. Great place.

No doubt bigger is better on Buffalo, the one pictured was killed on the Mokore Ranch, Save Valley Conservancy, we are going to Coutada 9 in September

I'm going to be booking my first buff hunt for next year soon...and using my CZ550 in 416 rigby... to hopefully get a buff that looks like yours in your avatar....(y)

Ha, I'm going to hunt Buff in the Save August 2019. Looks to be a great place. Going with Desfountain Safaris. I huned in the Niassa but Moz is great for Buff. You trying for anything else? Pretty good Sable there as well.

Great to hear, it's a great hunt! Where are you going? That .416 puts the hurt on them. I used Barnes bullets, did the job.

Buff, Sable, Nyala, Kudu, Warthog, Suni, Red Duiker, Lichenstein's Hartebeest, Reedbuck, Oribi, etc and whatever else we find that looks good, might go down to Coutada 14 for a second Buff if we have time. What block does Desfountain hunt in the Save?

Lol, anything else? I missed my Suni, little shits are jumpy and fast. Bushbuck is great, I would do that after Buff and Sable personally. You will have a great time. Not sure off top of my head, I will look and let you know. I'm curious as to if any changes are happening in Zim with a "new" government.

I forgot the Bushbuck, he eluded me in Zim. We are staying 15 days so we should have plenty of time. Had a Grysbok and Bushbuck in my sight's but didn't take either one in 2016.
