1st African animal

Lung and heart shot at 130 m with a 6.5 creedmoor Hornady 143 grain eld-x bullet. The bullet hit a rib going in and exploded the first lung went through the top of the heart through the second lung and stopped just under the hide on the other side. The animal buckled to his knees and went about 60 feet. All the blood went into the lung cavity.

Congratulations. Were you using factory ammo or handloads? Reason for asking. I am taking my 6.5 Creed next year. Mostly for long range Baboons and night critters but thought it could work for Impala, Blesbok etc. but hadn't thought of using it for larger PG. I am taking my 9.3X62 for Sable and Waterbuck etc. Using the same bullet you are and very happy with your results on the Gemsbok.

The 6.5 will be fine for everything I Reloaded my own just for perfect consistency. I shot a nyala yesterday and it dropped in its tracks with the blue wildebeest shot placement is everything. When I Shot the Impala the bullet went all the way through the heart and lungs and it went about 50 feet.
