Pretty good way to some it up. Trying to put one together in two years that will include the wife. She is not a hunter, but fully supportive of my addiction. Any ideas....

Congrats on a successful first safari and thanks for the report. My wife also a non-hunter has been with me on all my sojourns to Africa and has quite enjoyed it, probably won't be along the next time but who knows...
Have fun planning your next safari.

\My wife came with me to Namibia and she dosnt hunt .
Loved every minute of it and like me cant wait to go back .
Tell your wife the shpping in Africa is amazing .
Shoe shops everywhere in the cities with dirt cheap bargains on the lastest labels .
And the wine and food are cheap as chips and great quality .
That should make her think .
Cheers Dory .(y)

Jeffrey................thanks for the great report. congrats on the fine trophies. And I really appreciate sharing your failures as well as your successes. We have all missed our eland or kudu or the equivalent. Africa does that to us. If you don't get excited while hunting in Africa, you have no passion..........well done..........................FW Bill

I would never be anything other than honest. If not, what is the point? My mistakes are my own, and I fully accept them. I also thank you for recognizing that!! I made an assumption that most everyone that had hunted in Africa would understand. I am hoping to reach those who have not hunted there, and might train themselves a little differently. But, thank you for your thoughts. I was hoping that someone like you would confirm that my failures were not as bad as I made them out to be... I can promise that I will shoot much better the next trip.!! What an education I have gotten from this trip. Thanks to all who have taken the time to respond to my gibberish. This iste is an incredible resource fo all who want to travel to Africa!! Thank you for taking the time to keep it going!!

Thanks to all for the comments! This site, and all those who work to maintain it, are providing a great service to the hunting community. My experience in Africa was made better because of what I learned here. Thanks again to all those who went before, and made the trip better for those coming after.

Great write up and you got some good animals. Tough missing those shots but there isn't a hunter who hasn't got caught up in the excitement and flubbed one. I've got my share of them in Africa. You learned some lessons that will be valuable on your next trip, namely an expediter for your gun clearance. I use one and my clearances at SAPS rarely take more than five minutes with no requests for gratuities. Thanks for the story and pics.
I wasn't embarrassed, but really disappointed. I know I can shoot, and I have never had a problem with buck fever.......until now. Once I got over being in Africa"yeah right!", I was fine. Thanks for your thoughts and comments. I spend some time every night planning my next trip, and how I can make it a pleasant experience for my wife, so I can begin to plan my 3rd trip.....

For the wife's peace of mind (and yours) consider using Gracy Travel for your rifle import permit and meet and greet. Makes the entire airport process smooth as possible.

Congrats! I'm sure the trip was a life changing experience. Some ups and downs but lessons learned, that is what an adventure is all about.

Thanks for taking us along for the good times and the disappointments. They all go together to finish in a wonderful trip!
Now you’re addicted! Welcome to our disease!

Yes sir, quite right! My disease is progressing as expected. I am planning the next installment now!

Glad you had a great trip with Kuche and you got to spend it with family. My first trip was with Kuche as well and with my family. I took my wife with me and she absolutly loved it.I really enjoyed your write up and understand your frustration with missing animals. I missed a really nice impala and a monster gemsbok both the first morning of my hunt. We went back to camp for lunch and hit the range again, put one in the bullseye and Dale looked at me and said it's you not the gun. After missing the nice impala I asked Dale what the chances where of seeing that ram again, I asked if they where like whitetail here at home if you miss one he will be 3 county away in no time. His response was we probably missed that opportunity. After heading back out to hunt after lunch and picking up my wife we went back to the same property we had hunted that morning and low and behold there was the same two impala rams within 100 yards of where they had been that morning. I did not miss him a second time. I was not so fortunate on the gemsbok. I did shoot a nice one but not as good as the one I missed.
