I happened across this young lady's videos. She is quite a shot. If you were ever worried about the recoil of a big bore cartridge keep in mind she is 17.:)

Btw, she shoots a 458 win mag too.

Man up boys!

Her father has a good thread on here about her going to work in a safari camp in Africa. She is quite a young lady!

I recall that thread now!

I took note of the way she keeps the barrels steady even though the recoil moves her so aggressively! Very controlled technique. I have to work on that

Good for her! Cool to see a young person out with such a big rifle. Dad must have deep pockets just to pay for a day at the range for her.

Quotes:
"That was quite a recoil." The expression and tone say it all.

"It does not hurt as much as it looks like it does." But, it obviously did a little. It hurt me to watch from behind my screen.

She stood up to it well and was not knocked on her butt.
Which is impressive handling ability for sure!

It does show again that proper hold stance and attitude is the most important aspect of shooting the big bores. This young lady is not trying to fight the rifle but has mastery of it nonetheless.

Typical Norwegian.....must be some Viking blood in her...;)

I’d like her to give me some lessons.

:A Naughty: now now Dr. Ray, let's make her feel comfortable around the camp fire in our little corner of cyberspace :A Camping:

Ok she can come along with us! Lol!
Stop smiling Pheroze!

My gunsmith thinks bigger guys have a hard time with recoil for two reasons: they dont move so absorb the impact. And the butt of factory rifles tends to sit more on their pectoral muscle so it hurts more.

At 1:13 she takes time to make sure the rifle is positioned properly...that recoil looks really violent:eek::eek: but she shoots fine!

What a sweetheart. Good for her. This one needs to meet my twin sons. She is welcome in my camp anytime

Just to help you guys remember Katherina's father is "storm5" back in2016 he posted a series of Katharina's videos under the topic My Daughter's "going to Africa" video blog. As I recall, the primary reason for her making these videos was to help her feel more comfortable speaking English. Back when those posts were current, I eagerly followed Katharina's trip to Africa, then her trips to the range and fishing camp. Those of you that are seeing her shoot the big bores for the first time should consider reading her journey from the beginning.

Storm5, I hope you don't mind my referring more big bore shooters to read up and learn more about what a special young lady your daughter really is. Providing you do not mind sharing the information, what is she doing now?

I’m impressed at 17 this young lady knows how to shoot a heavy rifle, it took me 10 years to figure it out. Good job

I followed all her posts back then I wonder what she's up to nowdays

I had not heard of her! Gonna show this to my wife who can easily handle a scoped Browning BBR in 30-06 but won't even go near my .375 H&H.

When I was her age, and for many years after, I was shooting much smaller rifles, with no hearing protection. I laved lived to regret those many years when I was smarter than everyone else. I hope under all that hair she has ear plugs in!

I noticed she was wearing plugs. Good for her. I have no desire to shoot a 500....Dad ought to be proud.
