Montana Rifle

Very nice wood! Mine’s Kevlar, but it shoots outstanding! I’m a retired (maybe that’s “really tired”) engineer, so I chose function over form (engineering illness). That said, I do have a great appreciation for a fine work of art!
My 416 RM MRC is Kevlar, also shoots amazing! Almost all my hunting rifles that I seriously use up north are dressed in composite and stainless.

Seriously considering an SCR in 338 Norma; if my (Master) gunsmith weren't so busy I'd have him build one for me He has used their actions and is quite happy to keep doing so..... (a 338 Norma in a Ruger No 1 might be a bit "ouchy"). I have a PacNor barrel and loading components laid aside.....

I have a .280 Rem., 300 Weatherby, 9.3 X 62 and .375 H&H, the problem I have had is feeding with the .280 and 9.3, Montana could not make the 9.3 feed reliably. I sent both the 280 and 9.3 to a gunsmith that is verry good at feeding and both feed great after he worked on them. The positive thing that I can say is all of them are extremely accurrate.

Using my MRC (Colorado Buck edition) in 375 H&H currently on my trip with PawPrints. Outstanding accuracy! Only complaint is it might could use a stronger magazine spring. Or maybe I need to learn how to load it to make certain the cartridges are pushed upward.
It wasn't an issue with loading my second shot on the Cape buffalo I just too a couple of days ago.

Best of luck on your decision!
Walker...Any chance we can see a pic of your rifle? That stock colour is unique, only seen the pic on their website.. would like to see it in sunlight

Once the sun is up good, I’ll get you a picture in direct sunlight. Meanwhile here’s one in SA in sunlight.

Nice big thick bosses on him, and worn tips. I've been told the chest being rubbed bare of hair is a good indicator of his maturity.... Congratulations!!!!

Thanks mate, always wanted to duplicate that colour for my remmy, goes so well with tungsten cerakote
A couple of pics today. Let me know if you need more.

Cooper makes a beautiful rifle, but at almost twice the price for the same features in my research.
I was looking for a weather resistant (Stainless, cerakote or nitride, synthetic stock to hunt coastal Alaska again), 375 H&H (to find ammo anywhere and the minimum to handle anything) with a removable muzzle brake (to relieve my old body while testing loads).

How about a CZ or get a custom built? For a budget minded custom, start out with a Remington action instead of a 1k custom one. I've built my own complete rifles for less than 1200. That includes custom barrel, reamers/gauges, H.S. precision stock and aftermarket trigger. If a gunsmith does the work, add in another 300.
Having said all that, one needs to reload to realize the full potential of this or any other non-rimfire firearm.

The chest rubbed bare on a bull ussually coincides with the backs of a few cows being rubbed bare:K Over 18:

awesome rifle Walker ... I did email them once hoping they would do the colour on one of their base line rifles but unfortunately this is unique to the CBE

Porker, it shoots most factory ammo into 1 1/2” or less and my handloads as you can see even better.
Working on some Northfork 300gr SS loads now.

Dang, that thing shoots! The stock color reminds me of the giant anthills in the Northern Territory out here in Oz. Congratulations!!!

Anybody have any experience with these rifles good or bad. I see they chamber for the 416 Rigby Remington and Ruger.
So did you get an MRC?
