Mohammad, I hope you stay around and are an active poster. It would be interesting to have you share your experiences with us. Please excuse my ignorance on the subject but are you able to hunt in Jordan? I have been very blessed to have been able to have traveled to many places to hunt and fish but have never been to your part of the world though I do find some of the limited information I have found on hunting cultures over there very fascinating. Unfortunately like I said information on ya'lls hunting culture is very limited over here.

OK .. in my country area.. the Middle East .. more than 2 million people were killed in Syria and Iraq.. and I'm talking about just 100 miles away from my country borders (jordan) .. we are keeping our country safe and peaceful.. but the wars and terrorist activities did effect our life patterns and economy deeply.. everything change now
I remember when I was small kid .. I used to see hunters from my relatives and family friends.. going in hunting trips by cars to the wildlife areas in Jordan.. some were crossing borders to Syria and Iraq.. the used to hunt wild goats.. different kinds of birds.. wolves and hyenas.. you may see some big wild cats but not lions or tigers.. wild life in middle east is different than Africa but it still rich too.. Arabs use hawks and falcons to hunt other birds.. rabbits in the deserts.. people from the gulf states come to Jordan om many cars to hunt camping.. the have falcons.. rifles.. tents and gears.. they camps in the jordanian deserts to hunt different birds.. wild goats and deers.. rabbits... wolves.. foxes... they do that for entertainment and fun .. not to make income.. yet there is people who hunt to make money .. for example 10 % of Jordanians are christians.. so hunters hunt wild pigs in Jordan.. you can find it in Jordan valley at the borders with Israel.. I've been told that wild pigs is very dangerous hunts.. it's very very big and wild .. destroying farms.. hurts people so the locals always welcome the hunters to kill pigs.. then they sell it to big malls to sell it to Christians because Muslims are not allowed to eat it
In south of jordan.. from where I'm.. some people are poor .. so the hunt deers and goats to eat meat.. I killing would feed a family 1 month
Now a days .. hunting became very expensive sport or hoppy.. because the rifles and ammo is expensive.. wars and fights and the people needs of safety.. make the prices very very high .. also for security reasons.. in light of terrorist activities.. made the government's very strict with weaponry.. you can buy pistols and hunt guns but not rifles or snippers..
Jordan is a small country .. with growing population.. and lot of refugees from Syria.. iraq.. Palestine.. Yemen and Libya.. there is 12 millions.. only 6 million are Jordanians.. that makes big pressures on everything... including wild life .. hunting in Jordan still going on but not like before.. hunters lost Syria and Iraq.. and facings reducing of wild animals..

There are plenty of hunters on AH that disagree with CBL and yet others who have participated fully. If I read one more debate on high fence, low fence, free range, penned hunting my computer screen may explode.

The USFWS killed your dream of bringing a Lion home to the USA. You can most certainly go hunt one, nothing is stopping you.

When you do eventually fulfill your dream of hunting a wild Lion I would love to read the tale of the hunt right here. When you pass on and your family no longer wants the damned ratty thing hanging around their house, they can come on here and try to sell it to someone who wants it to decorate their home. Your family can then use the funds to go have a drink to your memory and the memory of the Lion.

My master plan is to hunt one of those CBL next year in the Kalahari, then find a legal lion on the secondary taxidermy market and that along with reproduction skull and claws will represent the memories of my hunt.

Yes .. ordinary hunt rifle .. like snipper is 7k $.. a new M16 is like 12k $

You are good hunters .. For example if come for a trip to Jordan to hunt wild pigs .. and sell it to the malls .. you will make very good money in 1 or 2 weeks because you are professional hunters .. and pig meat is very expensive.. I think 3 k $ for every one

You are most welcome .. any one planing to vist Jordan let me know to host.. yes the gov and locals will be very happy if hunt the wild pigs.. and the mall will be more to buy .. but many jordanian hunters were killed by the pigs.. one of them was the son of the jordanian army commander.. tens of pigs suddenly attack the hunters even within thier cars

Like every country awash in refugees, I worry about Jordan. You have been dealing with that problem ever since the first wave of Palestinians. Now you are facing tens of thousands from Syria and Iraq. At some point you run the risk of Jordan ceasing to be Jordanian.

I have a long story with my american fellows and colleagues.. since 2009 I visits United States every year in missions.. I'm really lucky to be here sir .. I'm very happy I swear !!

I pray that the turmoil will subside and there are brighter days ahead for the whole region. As has already been said, Jordan has been a tremendous friend and ally to the United States and I am grateful for that friendship.

I would love to be able to visit those areas one day. Israel and Jordan are high on my list if it ever becomes safe to travel there again. I pray it will and believe eventually there will be peace but I do think we have a long road ahead of us before that happens.
