Trophy the film - let your voice be heard

Philip,
Do you have any idea when they will be a "general" release or might I say when I can see the film. My normal schedule does not include the film festivals, Fyre Festival, or Ibiza? LOL. Any updates on when we can support the film would be appreciated.

As always my respect for your work and effort, I know you put yourself "out" there and I hope there has been no further repercussions.

+1 - I'd love to see it

It looks like August release targeting 150
Screens across the country. I'll keep you updated as I know more. The film makers were just sent back to Zim by NY Times to do a follow up story so lots going on!
I thank you for your kind words about my participation in the project. It is raw and will be controversial to many but does a great job of getting people to talk.
Regards,
Philip

@Philip Glass I recently listened to a Joe Rogan podcast interview with Corey Knowlton, about his SCI auction hunt of a Namibian black rhino. Knowlton had a team from CNN document the hunt. He shares some interesting perspectives about the media attention and backlash that he and his family had to deal with after the auction, after the hunt, and after the documentary aired. I suspect he went through some of the same stuff you are.

Here's the link if you're interested in listening:

You might want to consider going on his podcast for publicity. He is very pro-hunting (mostly from a bow hunting, meat hunting perspective) and his podcast reaches hundreds of thousands- both in the hunting community and many who are not hunters.

Seeing as how I'm a college student with college student friends in the state of NY, I'm not 100% sure if I wanna share this. I could bring it up with our Republican club though.

I think your friends are the ones who need to see it. We are not going to turn the tide preaching to the choir. We need to not let the anti's control the message.

Honestly, I'll go for it. I've already shared posts from Dallas Safari Club and Jim Shokey.

I spent the weekend in the Hamptons, NY at another film festival. It was hosted by Alec Baldwin a well known actor and animal rights activist. The film was screened then a Q&A session afterwards. Yes I was grilled and ridiculed but I held my ground and told them my story and educated them on conservation. The people were very nice to me ,except Alec of course, but even he was civil. His jabs were done in a joking manner so I can't be too mad at him.
As Trophy rolls on my the trailer and poster come out this week and premiers set for September 8 in NY and LA.
Stay tuned,
Philip

Thank you Sir. We need this message to go out and we need non hunters to see it. This is great

Well done trailer. I'm really looking forward to seeing your film.

Can't wait to see it!

Thanks everyone. It will be exciting to see it on the big screen.
Philip

Will it be released for viewing om the internet somewhere? Seeing as i highly doubt the capitol of PC Sweden would ever show such a movie in theatres....

We are so proud of Philip for having the courage to stand up for his right to hunt and put himself out there. Now we need your help to join the conversation on our Facebook page @trophythefilm and argue the uneducated haters that want to shut him down and silence us with death threats

As the director of this film, living in New York City, I was one of those that screamed when i knew nothing. Three years later after spending endless time traveling with hunters, being in Africa my views have vastly changed. This September we are changing the conversation about conservation. Come see the film and help us spread the word

Thank you for making the film. I have been trying very hard to engage in conversation, respectfully, at every chance. I think as long as all the answers from the hunting side are rational and polite, it will show the people in the middle who are the ones with hatred in their hearts. I think we are all grateful for Philip Glass putting himself in the cross hairs. We are all also thankful for John Hume, who has been a blessing for rhino conservation. I just got to the party a little late to take part in the making of this film but will do my best to support it now that it has been made.
