Bow Fishing Carp 2017

Season opened May 1 st ...but due to rain last weekend we were not able to get out . Until yesterday . The Lad from my local archery shop decided to join me . we had breakfast with my Mom (HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY ) Then we hit the river . First with the spears ,but we didn't see a single fish . So off to a familiar creek with the bows .The creek usually warms a little quicker ..... low and behold we each got one .

We do have fun with the arrows and are just getting into trying pole spears.....Spear guns are illegal in Ontario Canada .

We are actually using bow and arrows ..... this is an older picture showing some of our equipment . Also we are experimenting with pole spears but have yet to succeed .

Another 24 today ! Unfortunately Norms broke an arrow on his first shot and we didn't bring a spare ...... Oh well you'll have to use my spear . SOB winds up with 8 fish with the spear LOL ! Congrats Norms !

Where are you located? Bowfishing consumes me from March-September. I'm located in Kentucky. It's nothing to go out and shoot 50-300 fish a night.

Josh I'm located in Ontario Canada .... You Guys South of the Border have it so lucky . We can only shoot common carp , suckers and bowfin . And only from May to August , and totally illegal at night . Generally our carp grow to 25 -30 lbs (Tho most guys will say 50 plus ! ) Not huge like those Bigheads and Silvers you have . They are starting to invade the Great Lakes so there may be changes to our regs. in the not to distant future .

Today was pretty much our last kick at the can ...season closes tomorrow . BE WARNED FISH WERE HARMED IN THE TAKING OF THESE PICTURES ! LOL ! In the last picture James actually caught this one by hand ! We wound up 12 fish for 3 guys ...... See you all next year .
