My friend and PH in Namibia warned me to be carful on my upcoming buffalo hunt. Here's some pictures of a friend of his who was gored 3 weeks ago.

Looks rather painful. Glad it wan't worse. Got a story behind that? Bruce

Ouch! Hope he's doing OK! Surviving such a horrifying ordeal shows a lot about a man though. Tough guy. Lots of very experienced and very tough PHs didn't make it according to "White Hunter".
Best for your friend.

No Bruce I don't unfortunately. I was at work trying to WhatsApp in between working..lol. I'll try to get more details.

Damn that man is lucky to be alive for sure!

Man.... that's nasty.... something out of Running with the Bulls in Pamplona. I'd like to do both Run with the bulls in Italy & hunt Cape in Africa..... but sure as hell, don't want to ever end up like that!!!!

Don't do it @BWH. If you run with the bulls you best take your rifle for protection! Those things injure people every year. Would rather read your hunt report on Cape buffalo than another injury report like this one.

Glad it was no worse!! Every day we stay vertical and alive is a blessing! Heal quickly!

My bad.... I meant Spain....

Gotta say I didn't need to see this considering I'm heading for my first cape Buffalo Hunt in 90 days. I was nervous enough. Back to shooting and studying all the info I can on shot placement. I hope the hunter recovers completely.

While we are at it...
I remember this photo form a while back and dug it out.
Think it was the PH that was gored by a Buffalo in TZ..

Depends how you look at it; lucky to be alive, or unlucky to be gored.
They can be nasty..

why as gavin says its great? it happens but for the amount of buff hunted its a small percentage where it goes wrong....are you going to stop driving or crossing the road......?;)

A free range tracking Buffalo hunt is really awesome though.

We are just lucky that buffalo don't study Perfect Shot diagrams of us.
