Yes, I'm making a play on words with @The Artistry of Wildlife .

So as some of you know I'm moving from Georgia to Texas. I had to get the taxidermy there and didn't want the moving company transporting and to crate and all would have been cost prohibitive anyway I believe.

Late last year I asked Dennis for advice, which he gave me. Both on how to do it myself if I wished and who I might call. I called Trophy Transport and got a quote as well. They responded quickly with a quote, which I thought was reasonable. I sent it to Dennis to see what he thought on the cost and he thought it was in line.

Then Dennis went way above and beyond his normal work. He asked when I was moving again and said that IF he could work things out that he would be willing to do it for me. Just the offer meant a lot to me and we agreed to keep talking and I would at least have options.

In the meantime I had not heard back from Trophy Transport on the move dates and followed up with them. They said "oops" thought they had responded. This was right around DSC time and before SCI. They wanted to get through SCI and get me on their schedule after that, this made me a little nervous just because I had a small window to move. Long story short, I never heard back from them again.

I could have called them back of course, but before I had time Dennis hollered at me and told me he could move some deliveries around and move my stuff exactly when I needed if I wanted him too. Done!!!! I trusted Dennis would be there and he was.

So last Wednesday night he showed up at my house. My wife has always wanted to see a bear in her yard and now she has. :) Within a couple of hours Dennis had everything loaded, secured, and was on his way to deliver the bear and then my stuff. We closed on our new house on Friday at noon. From closing we went straight to the house and Dennis was waiting on us with most of the stuff already unpacked. As I type this I'm back in Georgia for the move, but my taxidermy is in Texas in my new trophy room! Dennis even offered to help me hang it all, but I'm not yet positive on the furniture and need to place it first.

So again, Dennis delivered in a world class way. There is a reason I'm sending all of my stuff to him and can't wait to get the next group of mounts hung on the wall.

Congrats on the closing! Thanks for sharing this part of your move with us! Glad it worked out with Dennis, pretty cool!

Dennis was great. I wish we had time to visit, but both of us had things that needed to get done. Next time perhaps. I owe him a good meal at a minimum.

Oh, my dogs loved him. Not many folks immediately squat down so they can get their face licked by big dogs. Dennis did.

Good luck in Texas Royal. I am sure getting your trophies moved has taken a big load off your mind. Dennis scores big on this one.

Thanks Charlie and you nailed it. Getting that done was a big relief. Now for the safe and 14 hours with 2 big dogs that don't like car rides. :A Banana Sad:

So when do PB and I need to bring lemonade, toilet paper, and chocolate chip cookies.:A Big Hello:

Welcome back home!!! The bluebonnets showed up early to welcome you back:A Thumbs Up:

If all goes well we will be there Thursday. Not sure when the furniture will be there yet. I can't wait to show her the bluebonnets....

Maybe we will have time this weekend. If not, likely next year.

You will now need to report to the AH gathering at the DSC Convention and beg forgiveness. :D

If I could manage, I'd give it a try. My class schedule won't allow much free time at all. I'm hoping I can get down to see Gizmo in May, but I have to talk my way out of reserve duties for that weekend...the only week I'll have off for two months, and Big Brother swipes it once again....
You'd think after 17 years I'd be accustomed to it, but it's still aggravating

I get you. Every year I think I might get to hunt opening weekend for whitetail deer in Texas. Then I get going coaching high school football and we are back in the playoffs. This year I screwed up so bad I didn't even get into the deer blind until December. Hang in there. There will be time one day.

Its people like you doing your job that allows the rest of us to live our lives. (y)

Oh by the way Gizmo is our neighbor. In Texas being 400 miles apart is basically living next door to each other. Come by and get you some chocolate chip cookies. :D

In many ways. Army Reserves and paramedic. Then I get to add in 4 days a week in class. And polish it off with this!
