Looking for any info about regulation load used in 9.3x74R Ego double rifle manufactured in 1990?

Can you get a copy of Graeme Wrights book 'Shooting The British Double" might have some help with working out a load.

Thanks Stug I have a copy of Graeme's books have worked up a load that regulates. I am however after info about load or bullet weight used in factory regulation.

Unfortunately the Ego factory has been closed for some years now, so we cannot go to the right source.
However, I have been informed by a contact who is very keen on Spanish doubles that the regulation load was Norma Vulcan 232 grains.

I always tell people that if you ask a question on this forum there will likely be someone with the answer!

Nyati, not being able to go to the source as you point out, this info is very helpful, thank you for your time.

@KiwiHunter if the 232gr bullets don't seem to regulate try the 286gr. Of all the double rifles out there, I'd say you have the easiest job ahead of you with the 9.3x74r because there were two common regulation bullet weights for most guns of the modern era. I would consider buying a box of Norma loaded ammo both the 232 and the 286 oryx and trying them. You may find that a factory load is perfect for that gun straight away, saving you some time.

Let us know how it works out for you.

My contact came back to say that he personally used the RWS 247 grains load which he found very accurate in his rifle, and that a friend of his used a 270 grains load but he doesn´t remember the manufacturer.

rookhawk, thank you for your feedback, 9.3x74R ammo and bullets are hard to obtain in New Zealand.
I however got a box each of Hornady 286gr and Norma 232gr factory ammo, while both gave acceptable accuracy the Hornady was best at around 2" with Norma around 2.5" at 50m. Tried some Speer 270gr that I have been using with great success in 9.3x57 but did not have good results.
Then got hold of Norma 232gr Oryx and worked up a a nice safe load that does 2" at 50m, have recently also sourced some Hornady 286gr that I still have to try.
Trying to find out what load may have been used in factory regulation is just to satisfy my curiosity.

Gunworks have Prvi Partisan 286gr RN soft points. I've used them in my 9.3x62 with good success.

I would be interested in it if you pass. Please send me the info on the gun shop if you do not buy it. I have the needed ammo and brass.
Thanks,
