So What Do You Guys Think?

I would say that group at 300 yards with three people shooting is real good.
I looked at it and thought I would have to give you a big thumbs up:)

If thats at 300 I'd say put it back in the case til your trip

We got back to the range this weekend and apparently the group we shot with this load the other week is a keeper. I managed to shoot a 3 shot group at 300 yds. that was just over an inch. I'm pretty happy with that, now the long wait till Oct. 1st. the opening day of antelope season in Wyoming.

Humph! I guess you are happy with that. Good luck come October.

Yep you bet I am, I can't tell you how many bullets, how much powder and how many trips to the range it took to come up with those results. All time well spent though, seems like every trip to the range I learn a little bit more. I've been hand loading since 1975 and some days I swear that I don't know nothin. Some things work and some things don't, I learned that much. Oh and patience, it taught me a lot about patience.
Thanks for the well wishes, I'll be sure to let you know how I make out.

A couple of days ago my son and my oldest daughter went to the range to get in a little trigger time. We all took a turn shooting my long range setup, a Ruger Mod. 77 V in 25-06. There was just the slightest breeze blowing from right to left, it's hard to even call it a breeze, it wasn't even moving the leaves on the trees. It was just a great morning for shooting. Any way we shot a 5 shot group between the 3 of us, 2 in a 1 1/2" bull and 3 just left and south, I'm blaming those on my daughters inability to read the wind. lol My question is, should I just leave it alone and settle on this load to hunt antelope with or should I continue driving myself nuts looking for the holy grail? Oh, they are hand loaded using Berger 115 gr. VLD hunting bullets and IMR 4831. So what do you think? The 6th hole is from my 30-06 Guide Gun. View attachment 154231

You don't say what range that is at. Nice group tho. The 25s are known for their accuracy. What velocity are you getting.
The 25s are a far more versatile round than the 6mms will ever be, but that's just my biased opinion as I have a strong loathing for the 243.

A 3 shot 200 yards group out of my 25. 100 yards average depending on projectile is 0.4 to 0.7 inches. The 117 grain SSTs group 0.9 inch 200 yard groups. That's as far as our local range goes..
The 25s make ideal deer rifles even better than the mighty 270 in my books.

That's great Grady, being 17 I'm sure she knows everything about everything. The bullets at present are seated as far out as they can go, the Berger's seem to like that. My little girl is now a 38 yo and finally figured out that she doesn't know everything, but she is learning.

My daughter at 17 was the same knew everything and if she didn't she had an uncanny knack of making you think she knew it. Her philosophy was if you can't bamboozle them with science then baffle them with BS.
At 37 and being a doctor she still tries it on her dad.

i would bring the sight down 1/2 moa for a better point blank range.
nothing worse than going just over the top with a good shot.

We were shooting 300 yards.

I went back and checked my hunting diary for 2016, that year I took a buck antelope with that gun at 390 yards. 1 shot thru the heart and it was all over.
