A snafu led to my receiving a kudu skull plate rather than the entire skull that was supposed to be used as a european skull mount.

Anyone have any ideas what to do with it? Just simply mounting it on a plaque won't work - it would stick straight out from the wall! :)

I would even like ideas other than a traditional wall mount as long as I didn't have to cut or drill the horns.

You could make or have made for you a wooden plaque with a shelf or block of sorts that sticks out from the plaque. Make the shelf/block at the right angle such that when you attach the skull plate to the top of the shelf/block, the horns go up parallel to the wall and don't stick out.

I'd make a pair of wall sconces out of them, but you'd have to drill some.

Yeah, I'd like to see pictures of the wall sconces. I'd seen them before, but couldn't remember where...

thanks and happy hunting, dv

Here's some sconces and a table display.

Here is an option from McKenzie taxidermy web site. Artificial Kudu skull. Hope this helps.

I really like this idea! I think I'll do some of my future mounts this way!
