Hi there.
Would anyone have or know where i can find photos or diagrams of the different elephant stances? IE: mock charge v's real charge, etc. I'd love to actually see the differences and how to tell if you should put your finger on the trigger or just wait.
Thankyou in advance.

How is the below:

Several good videos available at Safari Press. Buzz Charlton's video titled "Hunting Elephant" is what I used. There is a whole section on what you are asking about. Some of the video is slow motion and some is stop action!

Kim ,
Your PH will let you know when to shoot and not to shoot. But here is a picture of one who was getting tired of people aiming at him!

How to tell if an elephant is about to charge
by Professional hunter Don Heath

I have been in the Middle of two Large Bulls that we spilt up from three Smaller Bulls. I caught movement from the left and Three Bulls were running right at us. At the same time I brought up my Double 500 Nitro and the PH brought up his 458 Lott Bolt Gun. The center Bull was lined up with the Guide and I was lined up with the bull on the left. I was waiting for the Guide to shoot first. He never said a word. The middle Bull slammed on the brakes at 15 Yards and then the other two did!!! After a short stand off they retreated. I looked at the Guide and said I can not believe you didn't shoot. He was slightly still shaken AS WAS I and said he was one step away from pulling the trigger!!!
