I thought I would start a thread so everyone who wants can see how the mount is coming along.

It started with a picture that royal found for me of the pose I was looking for.

Then I send that to relive and they pour there form.

then they start the long steps of making that form look like the pose of the picture sent.

Which for a rough form I am thinking they are well on the way to giving me what we picked for my sons lioness. I will post pictures as I get them till she is home in her new place.

Nice Bill!!!!

This is gonna be good.

I am just glad you found the pose I was looking for. I had looked at about a thousand pictures and found none I liked as much as the one you found.

Funny how it depends on the exact search term as that was literally one of the first two pictures that came up!!!! LOL

Looking good Bill! Where is this work being done?

I look forward to seeing the finished product. Share the pictures when you can Bill

I will post the pictures as I get them from paul at relive. I am very happy with the way it is starting out already.

Looking good. Cant wait to see the progression.

I definitely approve of the pose, very eye catching.

Diamondhitch with how you like taxi work to that means a lot that you like it also.
I know it is my kids but I think this pose is kick ass good. My son was amazed on how they changed the form to look like the picture.
If all goes well I think this will be one of he nicest lioness mounts I have seen. Already planning for my son to take a warthog and get it a full body mount and place it in front of her.

They do real nice Lions, Im sure it will turn out amazing.

Sweet.! I bet Dakota will be excited to see his Lioness arrive in the States when completed.

I think I'll be watching this thread real close to see how she progresses !

Guys I am glad to be sharing this with others and it is nice to see some guys want to see this as it gets done. It is much more fun sharing the build up till she is home with people who like hunting and taxidermy work.

Definitely, share the progress. I am always fascinated with skills of an artist in motion.

I just thought of something Bill. I will probably get to see the work in progress as I plan on going to see Paul while I'm at Loodt's.

That will be cool. :)

bloody oath , looking good billyboy...

That is just not fair. LOL but since you found the picture for me I will not have you banned for taking a peak at her.;) It will be good to hear what you think after you see her in person.

Thanks again for helping find the picture for the mount.

I couldn't help but notice the similarity to the lion mount and form on the www.ohiotaxidermysupply.com home page. (wait for it to scroll). Coincidentally it is sculpted and mounted by Travis de Villiers who is the very talented individual that sculpted many or all of the forms that relive uses. Im not sure if he still works there or not.

For those who look at the prices of the forms and supplies, before you go demanding a discount from your taxidermist because of the "huge markup", please remember, taxidermists are not suppliers making a commission on sales. They are laborers who get paid for their time spent completing the wonderful mounts that each of you proudly display in your homes, much the same way a contractor gets paid for his time and materials when he renovates your home. If he were to simply mark up the price of materials plus a small fee he would soon go broke.
