Why they don't just leave Europe?

HWL
You do realize that both numerically and proportionately more Europeans live in the US than US citizens live in Europe correct?

1.7m US citizens live in Europe out of a population of approximately 340m..

4.7m Europeans currently live in the US out of a population of 744m..

And we sorta hope Europe keeps Rosie, Robin Wright, and Richard Gere..

We’d really appreciate it if you guys would convince Harry to go home.. and if he could take George Soros with him, that would be swell…

:)

Yeah, so Americans can pay for the defense of Europe and it’s security so they can spend their own money on social programs.

I thought the same when I saw that.

Then I also thought, yeah there was also that time when a bunch of young American men went there and kicked a whole lotta ass and did quite a bit of damage!

and so it begins....

WTF?? Just what we don't need. Half a million spies running loose.

And surely we will pay for them to get STEM degrees while American students will be saddled with a lifetime of student debt and a Masters in the Impact of Lesbian Manatees on Third World Countries.

I’d like to recognize @Red Leg @mdwest and @flying sailor on Veterans Day for their service. We can be angry due to government inefficiency in this thread 360 days a year, but we must recognize service, duty, and sacrifice in Veterans Day, Armed Services Day, and Memorial Day each year. I ask AH members to recognize any other veteran on this forum and honor them for doing the work that allows us to petition our government and redress grievances every day.

God bless the veteran, God bless the best of the USA.

Thank you for that @rookhawk ..

The truth is I thank God every day that I was given the opportunity to serve. I like to believe I gave a lot.. but the truth is the Army gave me much, much more than I could ever repay… I joined at a time that I needed more positive influences in my life.. I also needed to grow up pretty badly… Uncle Sam provided both of those things in spades..

Little known AH fact… @sierraone and I were in the same unit together for a few years early in my career… he and a few others that were senior to me back then showed me what true leadership looks like and demonstrated what being a quiet professional really means…

For better or worse, I wouldn’t be the man I am today had I not been allowed to walk in the shadows of the giants that came before me.. I am forever grateful…

You gents with clear skies and little ambient light might want to run outside. The Aurora Borealis is visible in Central Texas tonight. Must be one heck of a solar storm. Simply amazing.

It's 10:35 is the light show already over? I don't see it here in Dallas, but we have light pollution.

Amen. It's something I wouldn't take a million dollars for , but wouldn't give a penny to do again. I did one hitch and stayed out for 11 years. The economy tanked in 1975, I had a young family and construction didn't cut it. I talked to the Navy( I was a former Seabee) but they had no openings. On my way out I saw the Army office and thought what the hell. Talked to a recruiter and they took me in under the CAS(civilian aquired skills) program stripe for stripe. Got out of the navy an E5 and got in the army reserve an E5. Stayed in for a total combined service of 30 yrs, 6 mo, 8 days. Retired an E8. One of the smartest moves I ever made. I had benefits, my family had benefits and I get a nice retirement and full benefits. Great career.

You completely misunderstood my post. What I meant was the American military presence in Europe. The Americans have become an unreliable ally. This is the worst Europe need. They better go, as soon as possible. Europe has to defence itself.

I feel the same as Mdwest. I owe the Navy for setting me on the correct path. I was fortunate to have Two mentors in the Navy that smacked me around and set me on a good path. I would have paid the Navy to do what I did. It surely was never for the money.

No one owes me anything. The brutal truth is; I did it more for myself and buddies than any external purpose.

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
