She will likely go on my next hunt to Africa paired with my Cooper 30.06 for leopard, sable, eland and I'm obsessed with big crocs. I love Cooper rifles. They are so beautiful to my eye and well balanced they make me look like a shooting pro. The action on this rifle feels like a Sako. I've never had a bad Cooper rifle. Whether its factory or reloads they shoot well. Brown Bear is also on my bucket list as well. This was assembled in Arkansas with materials from the old Montana facility. According to them, the hunting world hasn't seen anything yet. They claim the rifles coming out of Arkansas facility will be "different" prettier and "better" than what was made in Montana. That's a pretty bold statement.

I'm excited to see what she can really do with the ballistic information gathered here! (y)(y)(y)

Beautiful rifle in a great caliber

Good choice.

You won't need the '06,

:)

Nice,

Beautiful rifle.

Why not just take the 35W and travel light? Should have you covered for every animal on your list and then some.

My son is going with me to hunt plains game he'll likely be using 30.06 or a Sako .270. I'm going for leopard, eland and sable.

Fine looking rifle. I’ve never owned a Cooper, but those I’ve handled have been very nice. Also, I agree with others, just take the Cooper to Africa.

In that case, pack them both and have your son carry the rifle case. ;)

When do you leave?

Very nice!

I thought it was sort of a weird move by Nighthawk, who was really focused on 1911 pistols and revolvers almost exclusively to acquire cooper.. but figured that anything they turned out would be an incredible firearm, whether they were rifle guys or not.. Nighthawk has always built incredible firearms and held themselves to really high standards.. One of the gunsmiths that left Wilson to start Nighthawk is a guy Ive known for the better part of the last 25 years.. great guy.. and bar none the best 1911 guy Ive ever met.. he could take a sta-puff marshmallow and machine it into a perfectly functioning pistol lol..

From what I can tell things are going really well with the Cooper transition and they are churning out some really great rifles..

Nice rifle in a GREAT caliber. A 225 grain barnes TSX works wonders in Africa. I used it to take this Sable at 220 yards with a single chest on shot, he never took a step.

Oh that's coming. I'm going to order a 28 Nosler high gloss wood stock in the gray laminate finish. It's going to be gorgeous. I'm an old school wood stock rifle guy. But with this .35 I figured rain and bad weather in Alaska, cold and snow in Wisconsin the fiberglass stock would be sufficient.

Hi PaulB,
I have a Ballard Arms Model 1885 chambered for .333 Jeffery Flanged. Do you have any idea where I can get ammo for this?

I am new to this forum so I am sorry if I am doing something wrong!
Thank You!
