New Courteney Boots and the use of a insole

I know Courtney boots has had a lot of discussion on the forum, after searching I couldn’t locate my question with my new purchase, Just received my safaris from Zim, I really like the boots but I want to use a nice insole like the SOLE insert but my question is When you all use a insole such as SOLE do you all remove the thin leather half sole that comes in the boots or leave it in and just put the Insole on top of it? Thanks in advance

I'm a green Superfeet insole fan.

I remove everything that is removable, and put the insole on as flat a surface as possible.

If they are tight you will need to remove the leather insole. It’ does not offer arch support so I find I need an insole

After my fourth pai I finally learned the secret to making the fit. First I googled orthotics and bought the highest arch…not the one they offer. Next I took the saddle soap they provide, no it in no way is polish and used it correctly as follows. 1. Rub it in generously and let sit overnight. 2. Wear next day 3. Repeat steps 1&2 until all boot polish is gone. 4. buy a pair of boot stretchers that you can turn handle to spread out toe of boots. I left for two months after this final step and my boots are perfect. Total comfort

@Rare Breed Ive been wearing brushing any loose dirt off and applying that saddle soap going on a few days they are getting more flexible by the day, Thanks for the tips

I think I’ll attempt to remove the thin half leather sole in them as I don’t see a purpose for it maybe for some folks but I want to break them in with a good orthotic.

Orthotics have saved many a boot for me that I thought I would not be able to tolerate. Go for it.

Yes remove the leather sole that comes with the boots before inserting your sole. Worked great for me. I bought mine from amazon for about $50 3 years ago and 4 safaris I think they need to be changed but worked just fine.

I installed pair of “red colored” SOLE Insoles this a.m. and currently wearing them they seem to be doing good.

I leave the leather base in place. It is flat anyway, so no point in removing it.

I don't know what it is about Courtney boots according to their sizing chart, but their orthotic designs are too odd to spend that much money, and then spend yet more on orthotic insoles, boot stretchers, internal heel pads/spacers, etc, just to have a proper fit. I bought a pair and they still don't fit, even after soaking in water, stretching, etc. I love the construction, but I will need to try on different sizes in a store that carries the boots and determine from there. No more ordering.

Ordering can be tough. If I don't already know what a specific boot will be, I might not risk it.

So far this pair seems to be working well, however it’s taken about 4 times to get here
