For reference, here is the Saami spec. From 2011

416 Taylor Magnum Pressure limits:

MAP – CUP Not Est. 65,000 psi
MPLM – CUP Not Est. 66,600 psi
MPSM - CUP Not Est. 69,100 psi
Velocity
400 grain – 2,370 fps

Great info. What is the barrel twist rate you are using? I've seen from 1:10 to 1:14.

not super big on fast twist and will be shooting 400gn or less. The recent 416s are 1:14. Rigby is 1:16.54" . Asquare says 1:10.
I use 1:12 (which gives me 2 complete revolutions in my 24" barrel.

Good information thanks was thinking 1:12 is the sweet spot for my favorite cartridge.

For cz550 medium action.

first pass fit to the medium action.
I should the internal depth is about the same as the cz factory FP.

finished the floorplate design. Extended about 200/1000 to get 4 down.
The flat bottom looked a bit "military" and did not seem to fit
with the smaller action, so rounded it with an elliptical curve for a bit more elegance.
