I've been following AH since about early 2000. I've always been interested in some of the famous writers and stories of the golden age of African hunting, and finally decided to become a member of this forum. My bucket list has a safari on it, but not a typical safari, as there is only one animal that I am looking for, M'BOGO. That has been my dream since I was a small child, and I'm in my 60's now. Oh, and I want to do it Karamojo Bell style, with a 175 grain .275 Rigby. Some day...some day...

Regarding the buffalo hunting, it is a dream definitely worth making into reality.
I do not know if there is a country within Africa allowing hunters to use a small caliber for that species.
But if there is, I shall look forward to your hunt report one day.

The one in my below attached photo was knocked off his hooves twice, by a left and a right from my Army & Navy .450 No2 Nitro and 480 grain Hornady bullets (a soft and a solid).
I believe I was 58 years of age then.

Now about to turn 72, arthritis is beginning to beat me up more and more.
Exercise and eating “right” to keep my weight down helps a lot.
But I’m getting slower and my energy is deminishing, little by little.

My point ?
Go sooner than later.
Time slips away.
Don’t waste it in front of a television.
You will be glad you hunted Africa, before you became unable to walk the hills mile after beautiful mile, very glad.
