Tranquilized this rhino in the East Cape with Walla Albertse, PH. On the way to stay at Kruger Park to stage for a Limpopo elephant hunt.

Looking forward to your report on the Rhino dart hunt. I will be in South Africa in late September this year trying to do the same. Really looking forward to the hunt!:)

how often is considered safe to dart hunt a rhino in a year ?

bluey: According to John Hume, a very successful rhino breeder ( and South Africa's largest breeder), once every two to three years appears to be very safe for the animals.

ok thanks for that info , I thought maybe twice a year or so , at a guess.

Interesting hunt. I would also like to hear more about this hunt when you have a chance.

Hope the rest of the hunt is as successful.
