Good Gun Deals This Week

"Based" in the parlance of kids these days is basically an affirmation or general positive response to someone or something--it can mean "true," "awesome," "cool," or "right/correct." It's often used when someone agrees with something someone else did or said, especially if it's something that goes against popular opinion or "proper" social conventions.

I used it here because the same segment of the population that often uses "based" also use the word "kek" a lot. Kek has become a common response similar to "lol," "haha," or "lmao" in certain younger circles and in online forums and image boards. It was not something I expected to see on this forum!
So we now have “Kek based”? LOL

Anyone looking to build a big bore, there is an Interarms magnum action NIB on GB with 6 hours left and no bids. $799 starting bid. About as cheap as you are going to find a Mauser type action these days I would think.

Not a bad plan, @Albert GRANT . Another good strategy is to buy a best grade wildcat that is deemed unsalable. These go $2000-$4000. Rebarrel, rechamber, address the bolt face, maybe $1500 to make it anything you want it to be.

Whenever I work the math on the cost of modest components to build a custom rifle, I always conclude its best to buy somebody else’s bad decisions they spent $8000-$20,000 on for pennies, then convert it into a “normal” caliber.

Likely be a bit of a lengthy search to find I would imagine, however if you had the patience, I would agree. It would certainly make a much better end product!

Hard to believe we could buy these all day for $1,000 ten years ago.
Yep. FIVE years ago a barely used CZ550 in .416 Rigby could be bought for $1k-1.2K. A used .458WM/Lott less then $1K (many for $8-900) when I bought mine. When the used AFFORDABLE CZ550 rifles in .416 Rigby are gone, the Rigby cartridge will become obscure again.

Kinda like the 404j now.

I think $2800 is a pretty ambitious ask, especially with the Hogsback stock. But the market will determine fair value.

I would be interested in it if you pass. Please send me the info on the gun shop if you do not buy it. I have the needed ammo and brass.
Thanks,
Ross
