This is the second time I've got to read this report and it was just as enjoyable! A dream safari and for the "Madam" to be there enjoying as much as you takes it beyond a dream.

What a great read and great set of photography - that shot of the camp at dawn is NatGeo good. Fabulous hunt and a great service you have rendered an obviously fine PH.

Incredible writing. I was supposed to be out breaking a mare this morning but couldnt stop reading (dont tell the wife!) Tou really have a knack for writing. This hunt report is the new standard! LOL
Hell of a safari! Congrats doesnt even begin to describe it. That is something I would dream of - being the first to hunt a new area. maybe not quite as wild as 100 years ago but far far more like it than anyone could ever hope for in this day and age.The journey is the reward.

Maybe you should. Actually maybe you should have her read it with you and perhaps she will become the next Joyce.
My wife hunted on this trip, shooting Impala, Puku, and Reedbuck (a monster) for Leopard bait and camp rations. She never in her life dreamed she would be doing something like that before our first trip in 2010.

She's a hell of a great shot as witnessed in this Dove hunting comedy clip.

I meant dont tell her that I have been shirking when I should have been working!!! She has accompanied me in Africa and taken a few animals, she loves it.
BTW, how many doves do you need for a Lion bait anyway??? LOLThe journey is the reward.

Frostbit,
One of the most riveting reports I have ever read. Your unique ability with the written word had me shadowing you and Madam each step of the way. Thanks for sharing. When I am not hunting, I am thinking about hunting....I think I'll go hunting.

I again say thank you Sir for the kind words on the writing style. I'm a bit disappointed in that when I cut and pasted the text from AR it put some strange characters in the place of apostrophes and quotation marks. I didn't catch the fact it also put a ? at the end of sentences in the place of some quotation marks. I should have done some better due diligence but honestly, it was late at night when I popped the report over onto this site.
I love telling a good tale in person verbally as well as written.
The whole story of Andrew's start up, the community benefitting, me getting my mature Lion, and the game coming back to the area makes me feel good as a hunter/conservationist.
We need to get this message across to our non-hunting friends. The anti's will always be unreasonable and unreachable but Joyce and I have done what we can to educate friends and co-workers that do not hunt about what our hunting dollars did for this area.
It's funny but when she showed pictures of the hunt to co-workers at the hospital they all pretty much stayed silent until they saw a dead Lion. Then it was, "Ah, you killed a lion". After she explained what that dead Lion did for the locals, the other game, and the rest of his breed, some of them started to understand.
We, as hunters, do not take that message to the masses enough!!
Cheers
Jim
