200gr A-Frames / RL25 / .300WM
Here we go again. I ran a whole bunch of different combinations of RL25 and IMR7828 in my M70 with a 26" barrel. I've found this rifle likes to have bullets seated long. So I've been seating rounds to a COAL of 3.38". When I get to 3.39", I'm pushing the limit to allow rounds to go into the magazine, thus the 0.010" buffer.
All of the loads I worked up in this powder when seated this way were under 1". The most accurate was at the max loading of 75gr of RL25, with the group at about 0.75" in a cloverleaf. Velocities for the 3 shots were as follows:
2879 fps
2855 fps
2904 fpsBonse Aba

You are ready for a Guinea fowl hunt with that grouping.
Don't get dirt in the magazine!
Practice whispering before you leave for Africa!
A Legend in my own mind!

Loaded some of these up again and also increased the load a bit to see how they'd do. I could go up by 0.2gr and get a little more velocity but that was it before the group started opening up. So I'm sticking with the 75gr load. Here's a 5 shot group:

Now will my AH friends please beat me on the head and tell me to quit with load development?! I've still been fiddle farting around with the 200gr North Forks and still getting fliers with every 3rd to 4th shot. I think it high time that I stop burning powder, primers and $$$ on those bullets!! I've been thinking this for at least the past week but then.........I think what if try this......I bet that might tighten that group up.....baaahhh!!!Bonse Aba
