I would think you mean 300 RUM, I have one, great flat shooting, long range hunting rig I am working on factory loads now, Remington Scirocco 180 grain, HSM Berger Hunting VLD 185 grain and Federal Premium 180 grain.. All are around 3200 fps. So far it likes the Federals,

I have a 300 Ruger Compact Mag. I used it in Namibia on game from the size of kudu to springbok. I shot reloads and used 180gr. nosler partitions. I also had a 338 win mag. with me but never used it as I like the way the little ruger performed. Another thing I like is the case is not a rebated rim and worked through my reloading dies easily. If you reload this round can be made to perform like a 308 win.,30-06 or a 300 h&h which is a nice option if your wife or young child wants to shoot. Mine is in a stainless steel barrel with a fiberglass stock. I have a 375 ruger alaskan ordered to go with it

I never really worry much about that as my PH said he had a 270, 30-06, and a 300 wsm I could use if my ammo or rifles did not make it. I would not be surprized if it did'nt come to the point where a guy may not be able to travel with weapons anyway.
