Default 120 grain Barnes TTSX in my 6.5-06

I went to the shooting range yesterday to chrono my 6.5-06 reloads with the 120 grains Barnes TTSX bullet.
I reloaded the ammo last year and used it last autumn when hunting Fallow deer and Roe deer with great results.
The precision is great with 3 shot groups under 1/2" at 100 meters.
The average measured speed is 3367 fps(1026 m/s)

My gun has a Shilen stainless steel super match grade barrel that is 63 cm long.
My Winchester cases are filled with 56 grains of N160 and I use Federal 215 primers.

After the chronoing and checking ballistic charts I have decided to sight the gun to center hit at 250 meters.
Then I can aim straight on out to 300 meters and I don't plan to take longer shots than that unless an animal is wounded.

Sounds like a deadly weapon, I like the length of your barrel....24.8 inches.

Flat shooting load. Wish they made the TTSX in a 149 gr with a higher BC. Be even flatter shooting. That load will get it done. Used my 6.5-06 last year for the first time. Good results.. Bruce

I have a Zeiss Victory 6-24x56 on it. Great scope.
I have owned the 6.5-06 for 20+ years now and I use it for everything when I hunt in Norway and Sweden with great results. Everything from Hare to Moose.

We have rather much Moose in Norway.
In 2012 it was shot 34 611 Moose.
In 2011 about 1800 more got shot.

In 2012 it was shot 35 078 Red deer and that number was also about 1800 lower than the year before.

In 2011 it was shot about 25 900 Roe deer.
