Federal and Triple Shocks
Just went to Federal's website and they are no longer showing either 30-06 or 338 WM loadings with Barnes Triple Shocks. The 30-06 165 gr and .338 225 grain were 2 of my favorites.
Is this a permanent move because of the sale of Barnes or some other reason?

That is a HUGE BUMMER!
Their Premium- Vital-Shok load with the TSX is the most accurate and terminally devastating factory load I have ever shot from my 30.06.
I just sent a query to the Federal Premium site. It said an answer can be expected within a couple days.

The Federal Premium line of factory ammo loaded with the 300gn Barnes T.S.X was the most effective buffalo medicine I have ever used, or seen used, in the .375.
Many moons ago, when prices were rising, I bought several hundred +.
Here is Aus they had reached $200/box but were worth the performance they provided for our clients who were borrowing a camp .375 for use on buffalo.
After seeing this thread I checked my stock and see that I am down to 140.
I will definitely miss the performance this ammo provided though I will NOT miss the price I was paying for them !
With many hundreds of near new brass cases ready to reload it is time to stock up on some Barnes projies and prepare to roll some handloads !

Paul.............. how hard is it to ship to OZ? If you want I will round you up some 300 grain TSX and ship them to you.

Paul,
Remind me next year before Dallas, and I'll bring you all the TSX/TTSX's I've got. I know I've got some in 7mm, .308, .375 and .416. They certainly work well but I've been turned off by the fouling they put in my rifles.Bonse Aba

Kelly that's a very generous and thoughtful offer, very much appreciated.
Unfortunately, as I found out recently, it requires an Export permit through the State department, an import Permit through our Department of Defence AND a B709A permit through our local firearms branch of the police.
Certainly not impossible but considering the time I already spend sorting through firearm Import permits, the last thing i want to do is more paperwork.
I will do exactly what you propose and am extremely fortunate that there are several local commercial dealers (gun shops) who import projectiles of my choice for me at wholesale cost.
I am currently waiting for close to 1,000 projectiles at the moment in 7mm, 9.3, .458, and .510
I have to try and spread the purchases otherwise it's a LOT of coin to find in a short time span !
At the end of this years hunting season I'll do another big order and get in another 1,000 or so in .308 (300 win mag), .338 and .375.
My biggest problem is that just when i've got a good "stash" of projies in stock they seem to just "dissapear" down the tube !
I appreciate you thinking of me !
Hey how's it all down on the farm ?
How's bear season looking, I saw your recent post here and was stunned with the size of some of those big black suckers you get up your way !
Awesome man, I hope there's some way I can find the time to do that some day before I'm all too old and broken down.
Cheers,
Paul.
(apologies in advance for going off thread topic)

Holey smokes, you guys are just TOO GOOD !
Phil, I'll buy everything you've got left in 7mm, 308 and .375.
just let me know what weights they are as I tend to only run the one bullet weight in each gun.
I'll have paperwork done before the next show so that I can bring them home.
I'll send you a p.m for your banking details and wire through some VERY VALUABLE AUSSIE DINEROS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Again, much appreciate you thinking of me !

Well if you can pick them up I will see what I can line up. I am probably going to be in Texas hunting next January and could get them to Phil and he could put them with what he has. We could coordinate it. Should not be a big deal. You two can let me know.
Kelly

The 7mm are 150gr TSX's. The .308's are 150gr and 180gr mixed bag of TSX and TTSX. The .375's are the 250gr TTSX. Not sure how many of each, too wore out from the week to bother counting.
As far as banking details and wiring goes.....how the heck are you going to wire me a beer? That's all it cost you my friend.....well and a gentle ribbing if you don't come to the AH dinner next year!Bonse Aba
