Once Loodt gets his ducks in a row, he will do just fine.

Any start up business is going to have hiccups. There is a process to start a new venture and Loodt just did not do his part properly.

True and correct I believe my point was quite clear though...... as for doubting my trophy judgement skill,... well buddy I guess you'll be shooting one of those small Leopard then..... Life's a bitch ain't it... :)
As for down playing this is my impression on many replies, and I believe many other outfitters as well.

Many SA outfitters are then making honest mistakes in Zim..

PS. English is my 3rd language just an FYI ;)

    My best always

Some of us looked at it as a honest mistake others as done on purpose. Why would anyone think it was done on purpose because others have done it in the past. Each person is different some do things with bad intent others make mistakes honestly.I am sure others have made mistakes and made things right over time.None of us took what he did lightly just some of us did not want him hung for a mistake that was made from being young and eager.

Hey, now that's a very clever thought. A psychological 'bond' must have been formed. I can think of no other reason why anyone would continually minimize the situation in view of the potential repercussions the "mistake" could have caused for an unsuspecting client . . . Stockholm syndrome, yes, that was a clever thought indeed. LOL

I think you guys really mean Helsinki Syndrome.

I am not aware of Loodt holding anyone hostage (by any definition of the term)!

I don't know about clever....but I do know there is a difference between Stockholm and Helsinki Syndromes.

I don't think there are hostages involved in the latter.

3rd language.... I'll switch to Afrikaans and then we can have a real laugh at my expense. (In the event you could actually understand me at all)

I'd trust you on a Leopard. It's those horns that require measurement and counting that would worry me. :)

I know you always offer your best Jaco.

You were quite clear with your point Jaco. I just added another detail.

I have my PH Course Certificate in Limpopo. I am not a licensed PH though, nor am I an Outfitter.

Loodt is one step closer. Congratulations to him for passing the course.

I hope everyone gets in front of this and takes something positive away from it.

No abductions or allegations being made.

Stockholm syndrome is sometimes erroneously referred to as Helsinki syndrome.

Although the "syndrome" is related to hostage taking. It is the concept of empathy and sympathy that I am referring to.

"a psychological phenomenon in which individuals express empathy and sympathy and have positive feelings ..., sometimes to the point of defending and identifying with them (the captor)."

Here's one for us all to consider. :)

In psychology, cognitive dissonance is the excessive mental stress and discomfort experienced by an individual who holds two or more contradictory beliefs, ideas, or values at the same time.

Cognitive dissonance theory is founded on the assumption that individuals seek consistency between their expectations and their reality. Because of this, people engage in a process called dissonance reduction to bring their cognitions and actions in line with one another. This creation of uniformity allows for a lessening of psychological tension and distress. According to Festinger, dissonance reduction can be achieved in four ways:

Attitude: "I am going on a diet and will avoid high fat food"
Behavior: Eating a doughnut or some other high fat food

    1. Change behavior/cognition
    (Ex: Stop eating the doughnut)

    2. Justify behavior/cognition by changing the conflicting cognition
(Ex: "I'm allowed to cheat every once in a while")

    3. Justify behavior/cognition by adding new cognitions
(Ex: "I'll spend 30 extra minutes at the gym to work it off")

    4. Ignore/Deny any information that conflicts with existing beliefs
(Ex: "I did not eat that donut. I always eat healthy.")

'Tarbe', my earlier post was not meant to be taken seriously. I was trying to be facetious in that I found 'BRICKBURN'S' analogous reference to Stockholm syndrome to be quite humorous. I became more amused with your subsequent reference to Helsinki syndrome because I initially thought you were trying to compound the humor.

In any event, BRICKBURN is correct; Stockholm syndrome is sometimes erroneously referred to as Helsinki syndrome. I am aware that Stockholm syndrome does not apply here. My post was an attempt at levity and grins . . . . sorry, looks like I failed.

. . . . I obviously failed so miserably the last time that I feel somewhat compelled to keep trying until I finally get it right!
