My family and I just returned from 9 wonderful days in South Africa with Pieter, friends, and family of Paw Print Safaris. My wife and i have been married over 15 years and had never had a honeymoon or a even a proper vacation so you can imagine how important this trip was to us! It would take several pages to explain all the ways Pieter took it upon himself to make this trip a reality even with my financial constraints.
My two sons (12 and 14) were able to take two nice Kudu, two Impala, a blesbok, a red hartebeest, and an exceptional warthog and blue wildebeest. I truly feel like Pieter went out of his way to make sure that my boys and wife were always entertained and having fun. The food and company were first class! I myself had never been to Africa either but had dreamt of it since childhood. It was incredible to finally see how the hunting industry works in Africa and to see the animals I had longed to hunt since I was a boy. I just really cant imagine being treated any better than we were on this trip.
I was an avid wing shooter here in the southern US when we still had a good population of wild quail and pheasant and I can tell you that I have NEVER seen the abundance of wild game birds that I did while in SA. If any of you would like a wing shooting adventure I would think that Paw Print would be a prime candidate to provide you with the bird hunt of a lifetime.
I am already planning to go back to SA next year to hunt buffalo cow, birds, and do some fishing. You can bet your last dollar that I have no intention of using any other PH than Pieter Erasmus!!!

If any of you are considering hunting Africa with Paw Print or your undecided on your Outfitter, please feel free to call or email me and I will answer any questions I can.

You just get a feeling after dealing with pieter the money is second to him giving you everything he can for you dollar is first to him.
I just don't think in 10 days with all we want to hunt if we will have any time to do any wing shooting. My boy loves it but time is never enough with all the fun there.

Nice to see you had such a great trip and already planning on going back.Plus good to see another dad giving his kids the chance to hunt Africa.

Hi Chuck. Looks like you had quite the family adventure.

What region were you hunting (North West, Limpopo, etc.)? And how many concessions did you hunt?

I haven't hunted with Pieter, nor have I even messaged directly with him, but I can say this. Your statement is one I've heard many times on this site, both publicly and privately. The consensus is definitely that Pieter has a soft spot for family and children in particular! It is pretty obvious that he wants to "pass it on" with the kids. That's just awesome....

    Oh, and GIG EM AGGIES!!!

    I'm class of 90. :)

Thank you all for commenting. Pieter definitely does have a soft spot for children and he is a devout family man himself. He really does understand whats most important in life.
There is definitely an aggie/longhorn rivalry between my boys. I have tried to explain to mason that people of UT only hunt on video games while sipping the latest crappuccinio at starbucks! The boy just wont listen........:)

I didnt really have the money for a lot of taxidermy and intended to have everything euro mounted. Pieter and Jan stated it would be a travesty not to have the warthog mounted.........so he will be!

Glad to hear you are going to get the pig mounted. That is a warthog of a lifetime and don't come much bigger then that.I bet you cant wait to get back over for another hunt.
