I'll try to in a bit. Not sure if it fits here. We mainly hunted with rifle, although I did take a couple with my bow. I'm still trying to get my yard under control at this point, being gone for two weeks. Grass grows a lot quicker in Mississippi than it does Africa...

That would be great, when your ready just go to forum at the top of the page scroll down to hunting reports and start a new thread under the country you hunted in and we'll be waiting to read it.

Rusty - It does not matter that you hunted with the rifle. When you have time to post like Bob say's "just go to forum at the top of the page scroll down to hunting reports and start a new thread under the country you hunted in" We are all anxious to hear about your hunt.

You had to visit the Kalahari desert before you could appreciate the full value of green grass in a ditch. Spray the yard with round-up and then post your report :)

Although all the animals I shot were special, he is my favorite as well. there were other bulls in range with "better" horns, but none as old as this warrior.
    Many thanks - Nyati

I'm relieved to hear you left a few for seed! I was wondering if I needed to cancel my 2014 trip or not. Waterbuck will be number one on my list. We couldn't get a shot at the big one that hung out close to camp but spotted him on numerous occasions. With all the good young waterbuck present they should be overrun in a few years. I passed on several in the 26" range on the south section of the ranch. I can't to get back to kanana end of next April and have my second hunt of a lifetime.

Don't cancel your trip. Plenty of critters. I hope you get that big waterbuck Robert. That waterbuck was my nemesis as well. I hunted hard for him and the two I saw just like him, but came up short. When I go back waterbuck will be my #1 priority as well. Go get em Robert.

I know what your saying Bob. At that point I had already shot a bull and was after a old dry cow which I was able to get the last day.
Have to leave some for future.

I would suggest that upon your return that you concentrate on the South section for Waterbuck. For a couple of reasons.
There was a 32 plus monster we saw down there, when we were no longer allowed to hunt Waterbuck or Kudu in the South section, and "the big one" you refer to will have migrated to Maun by the time you return. :)

I could see why they slowed down on the Kudu tally from the
South, the groups including myself while I was in camp hit them pretty hard. I took a one horn cull waterbuck close to Jason's house on the North side and have only seen one other one harvested through the Kanana Facebook page. So why did they shut the South harvest down? We watched three in the 25"-26" range at the same waterhole (rock pan) while having lunch and the population on that side looked in good shape. But the real question is did ya get the spotty cat? Too bad they don't let you hunt spots in Botswana, we saw tracks almost everyday.

The Facebook page does not have all the trophies that have been taken on it.
Some folks don't like to share with the whole world. :)

I had a cat pissing on the blind at Kanana every night.
You come in an the door had new stains on it and brand new tracks backed up to it.
He was a very lucky boy that you could not hunt Leopard there.

I started to think that I had some kind of Leopard karma going for me. :)

Go read the other thread. I just posted the final segment. :)
