Coming up on my list are Common and Mountain Reedbuck and Vaal Rhebuck. Is there one area in southern Africa where I can get all three of these?

The East Cape is your best bet! You will find bigger common reedbuck else where but the East Cape has them. Vaal reedbuck and mountain reedbuck are found in good numbers in the East Cape.

Now talking about Mountain Reedbuck on the Eastern Cape Rusty was showing me how to call in game with a distress call when 3 Mountain reedbuck run in to check it out one so big I thought it was a small Common Reedbuck I raise my rifle and Rusty said don't shoot we're looking for Duiker. Wow that made my Silver Mountain Reedbuck look like maybe he shouldn't be in the books. LOL I agree with the Eastern is a good bet, I've taken all 3 with the outfitter I hunt with on the Eastern Cape and the area I took my Vaal Rhebok hold place 1,6 and 11 for SCI.

The Eastern Cape is a good choice but as Diamondhitch mentioned KZN has them all too. Mountain Reedbuck and Vaal Rhebuck share the same habitat but Common Reedbuck does not so even though you may be able to hunt all three species in the same general area / province, you'll likely have to travel a bit to get to all of them.

I happen to know where some good ones are so if you need help feel welcome to contact me.

    Best,

I agree with what Chris says about their distribution. The mountain reedbuck, vaal rhebuck, common reedbuck (and klipspringer) are some of the most under-rated animals to hunt. If you love mountain hunting, hunting them is a treat. Attached are some trophies we took last week and one tired but very satisfied client.
