Good evening! Not only am I new to hunting Africa I'm new to hunting period. Growing up I was too busy with sports and academics to tag along with my grandfather on his hunts. And as I aged I got too caught up in my career. Now that he is gone (and has passed his firearms on to me) I have finally realized there are more important things in life. I am jumping into this with both feet and am thinking my very first hunt will be with a PH in SA. Anyway, I expect to get a lot from this website, in addition to what I already have.

Welcome to AH, I'm trying to think where I have heard your outfitters name, must be from one of outdoor TV programs.

You're right. I heard about them on an episode on one of the outdoor channels. They seem very legit after speaking with the producer of the TV show on which they were featured. But, I don't see anything on AH about them.

Welcome, and WOW. I cannot imagine the first time to go hunting, to go hunting in Africa.
There is much good advice to be found on here. Everything from "how to pack" to "what to do with the trophies".
And much stuff in between. It helped me get ready for my first trip 2 years ago.
Also, many great outfitters on here that you can choose from and also read hunt reports from the hunters here.

Wecome to AH. Be sure to plan some sight seeing trips as well, especially being a new hunter, to break things up a bit.

WOW, first hunt and trip ever and Africa place of choice. Take a lot of money with and shoot everything now encase you do not like it! LOL!
This I have not heard of happening. You will fall in love with the country, people, animals and want to plan trip #2.
    Good luck to you.

Welcome UknowWho18. Sounds like you intend on having a good time on your first hunt. I hunted last year for the first time in Africa with PH Hennie du Toit. He works for AfricanSky and did a great job! He did so well that I'm going back in April. Nose around this site and check out others as well. At the end of the day make sure you talk to someone voice to voice about their experience before picking an outfitter.
