Do you have to be careful where you hunt your dogs because of gators? Are gators a problem?

16 Gauge, She is a Small Munsterlander, had her for 16 years now.

Here's my American Lab. The second pic. is of his first retrieve. We hunt on the Susquehanna river and it was tough going that year because of tropical storm Lee. The river was high and current was super fast, we hunted the middle of an island that was usually dry ground. Got lucky with a couple wood ducks.

As soon as I took the pic. I landed on my ass after I tripped on a log. Ended up with a wader full of water, but saved the camera.

Here's my other lab. She doesn't hunt but she's a good one. She got a little scared in a wind storm the other night.

It is something to be aware of especially during teal season. I prefer to hunt teal in the rice fields. A couple of years ago I caught an 11 foot alligator in my duck pond two weeks before teal season opened. We have never lost a dog to an alligator.
