    Back from Central Africa...

Once again the hunting season in CAR was very nice, more I spend time there more I love it, it is so wild and remote and animals so unique. I feed my soul and I feel in peace with the wilderness.
Oh yes, there is still some trouble in the country but despite all the events the hunters came and most of them had a great hunt.

This particular area is really the ''land of bongo''. I saw about 150 this year with some huge one, up to, I think 38''.
    Some Bongo pictures:

    1.JPG 2 (2).JPG 2 (3).JPG 079.JPG 104.JPG DSC02690.JPG DSC02728.JPG DSC02742.JPG DSC02754.JPG DSC03066.JPG DSC03077.JPG DSC03090.JPG DSC03349.JPG DSC03354.JPG DSC03661.JPG DSC03669.JPG EK002255.JPG EK003456.JPG EK004620.JPG PICT0978.JPG PICT0997.JPG PICT1002.JPG PICT3177.JPG PICT3211.JPG PICT3427.JPG PICT5875.JPG

I think that the density of Giant forest hog in that eastern corner of CAR is the highest in Africa... I saw about 250 of them !! they breed like rabbits... sometimes you can see a sounder of 20 animals, just amazing to see and hunt this hog...
    Some Giant forest hog pictures:

    021.JPG 066.JPG DSC02304.JPG DSC03561.JPG DSC03573.JPG DSC03600.JPG EK001629.JPG GFH.JPG PICT2054 (2).JPG PICT2096 (2).JPG PICT2125 (2).JPG

Leopard in CAR are also BIG... This country is not really known for leopard by American hunters. I think it is because you can't get the trophy home. But again the density and the quality is very good.
    Some leopard pictures:

Enjoy the rest of the wildlife from CAR:

    Christophe,

    Outstanding!
    Thank you for this report/photos.

Thank you gentlemen. As I said, despite the trouble in the country, we can still hunt in the eastern part.
The trophy quality is just amazing.

I was wondering the same thing. How are you entering the country? With one international airport in the middle of the trouble.

Bangui airport is absolutely safe. The SANGARIS and the MISCA troups are around and based at the airport.
Air France is flying once a week.
On the way in hunters spend a night at the hotel and the next day they charter to our airstrip situated at 12 km from the main camp.
On the way back, hunters charter to Bangui airport and get the Air France flight straight away.
    So it works well.

Christophe, is the hotel in the city or at the airport - I hadn't managed to get comfortable with the idea of over-nighting in Bangui but take assurance for your comments above. Air France looks straightforward but was unsure of logistics once in Bangui. Is it logistically possible to get in , hunt, and get out again within 7 days?

    Stratton,
The hotel is about 10 mn drive from the airport. It is a 5 stars hotel, totally safe.
Sure it is possible to come for 7 days but you hunt just 5 1/2 days.
Of course it depend what you are looking for. For leopard (if we pre bait), Buffalo and some plains game it is ok but for bongo, Lord Derby Eland and giant forest hog, it is to short.
In February 2013, one of my friend came for a week and he shot a leopard, bongo and Buffalo !!!!
    Here is the video:
