Let me start this post off saying that i dont want people pm'ing me and asking details but a long story short is i had the most amazing marriage a man could ever hope for. My wife and i were so truly happy together and lived a fairy tale life. She was my best friend and as usual she bought me something very special to share memories with me yet once again in botswana. 15 years into it my wife up and left. No rhyme or reason and it makes no sense. That being said i cannot see myself hunting without her. I feel i should put this out here to explain why im trying to sell this on such short notice.

The hunt is paid for and in my name. I have paid $64,000. Its a 14 day hunt in the ng41 block of botswana. Its for a bull with a max weight of 60 lbs. trophy fee is $5000 for every 10lbs over that. Hunt is scheduled for sep 1 - 16 this year. It will be with johan calitz and if i make a deal i will have tharia unwin transfer all details to whoever i make an arrangement with. Feel free to pm me with offers. Highest bidder wins

Sorry to hear tap and that really doesn't begin to cover it all. Hang in there and hopefully someone takes the elephant hunt off your hands.

Sorry to hear that tap. I wish I could make you a reasonable offer, but any offer I could make would be insulting.

tap, so sorry to hear of your troubles. If it helps I'll pass alone something a very good friend told me under similar circumstances years ago and she was right on. If you haven't been through it before you will find that it will take 6 months to see more good days than bad BUT IT WILL GET BETTER! You have to remind yourself of that fact every day. It will get better even thought you don't think so today.
Secondly, you've got more friends here on AH than you realize. And if you need it, PM me anytime. I know what you're going through.

Thanks for all the well wishes guys. Hunting was a great passion in my life and a great part of it was having something to share that with. Hopefully someone can come along and claim this and have the experience i was hoping to have.

tap, been through this twice...... Not easy, but it will be. I think you should go on this hunt, personally. You might kick yourself in the ass if you don't. I understand what you are saying (with the hunting partner), just ask in return, you listen to what I am saying, it is truely a hunt most would give their right foot for, so take advantage of it and enjoy it brother/bwana. Just saying....

From my personal experience: I was married for 9 years to my last wife. I didn't want to get divorced but after I finally realized that I deserved to be treated better than what she was doing I divorced her this past January. I then bought my dream vintage shotgun since I love bird hunting with my dogs. I also booked a Zimbabwe hunt for Elephant, Leopard, Croc and plains game that I took this May. I killed a 92 x 91 pound elephant, leopard, croc and others. It was a great hunt and experience.

Don't let women get you down. Suck it up. Go on the hunt and have a great time! I guarantee you will later regret not taking your hunt.

"Drown your sorrows in dust and blood with the smell of gunpowder in your nose, not whiskey and gin" a wise man told me one day....

Tap I remember your excitement when you posted about your ele hunt you had booked. I have no idea how you are feeling right now but I am quite sorry to hear about your situation. As others have said, I think you should go on with your hunt. You will look back in a few years and be happy that you did. Plus it will be a great distraction. Hunt Bots with the best while it is still possible.

Congrats on your big tembo Bobby!! The rest of your safari deserves congratulations as well. I never posted on the other forum because I think that enough people said so.

Tap - I feel for you buddy. I do understand what you are feeling as I went though a similar experience just last year. I was divorced from my wife and hunting partner after 32 years together. It is hard, however I am living proof that things will get better. My world fell apart. I thought about canceling my Africa hunt, which my wife was to be my hunting partner. I cried, I wallowed in self-pity, I could not see the future without her. Here I am just 9 months later... I could not be more excited about my future. Met a new incredible woman, building a new house and yes - I am going on that Africa hunt. Do not give up your dream buddy. In fact, dust yourself off and make your dream happen. Your a good man Tap. Don't be afraid to lean on your friends. Including me and any of the other AH community.

Tony i agree with the people saying go do the hunt. she left you , there is no point in punishing yourself by not doing something that is a big part of your life and that you love doing. i know you feel like shit and your head and insides are twisting up , but go do the hunt and get away , get some space and clear your head. you have to start the new you and this is one hell of a way of getting back on the road again. :thumb:

Sorry your going through a tough time. I truly am.

Now, to be brutally honest I have to tell you that you are not thinking clearly. Go on your hunt. It will be the best therapy for you. You are making a big mistake to give this up and a year or two from now you will seriously regret not going.

You will probably have a better time than if she came alone.

I know it seems dark right now but one of the steps to getting better is to do stuff that makes YOU happy.

Don't make huge (I consider $64,000 once-in-a-lifetime trips huge) decisions while you are in a messed up state of mind. When you start thinking clearly again you will really wish you had said "Screw the b1tch" and gone hunting.

..there is always a reason, Bud. The best thing you could do now would be to get away and do your hunt. Spending time in the bush with a guy like Johan is great therapy. At the very least, try to get your hunt on hold until your head clears. It sucks right now, I know, but hang in there..

I'm sorry to hear of your troubles, it is a very difficult and painful time for sure. I've been there, went through that. What I believe is that you know what's best for you to do in this situation. If you decide to resume you elephant great, if not, then that is great, too. No man walks in your shoes but you.

Best wishes to you and whatever decision you make, then that is the correct one.
