Tell me if you agree with this or not?
What I was told the 27" and the 23" Nyala are older animals because the amount of turns are having the horns pointing out? If that is the case the the rest are younger Nyala. The 30" trophy will be a great thophy in a couple years even though it has a huge set of horns?

As a general rule you are probably right.

I compare the bases and the breadth of the nose bridge when I try to "guesstimate" age.

The 27 is certainly older than the 23.
Looking at the 23 you can see how "fine" his features are in his face.
Although he has the curl in the horn he is a younger animal. (IMHO)

That 23 may be the type of conformation that starts to turn early.

Turning out or straight up tends to be a conformation thing, not just age.
There are plenty of monsters that are straight.

You can see every one of the bulls has "ivory tips". Even little guys start to wear their tips and cause this "ivory".

I like stalking Nyala.

I had always wanted one with the "Lyre shape" and this guy happened to let me stalk in to 12 yards. Suffice to say he was a little shocked when I stood up in the long grass.
My last attempt to find that one over 30.

Position for the photo does not do the guy on the right and justice. He is 25
The one on the left is 26.75

Here are two that do not turn out at all and one does not even really twist. They are both monsters and measure 29.25 and 29.5 respectively.
This one is my first Nyala and was an incredible hunt over several days playing cat and mouse.
