I’ve flown Ethiopian Air to ADD to Namibia. I had a good flight and good experience. Traveling with a rifle through ADD however can add a wrinkle. What you save in cost you lose in travel time.
While deer hunting in the hot weather of South Carolina I like high shoulder shots for reduction in trailing/meat spoilage. However, several heart shots come to mind--a shot with 7 mag 168 grain Nosler Accubond LR with a suppressor at a 20 degree angle down on an elk. Shot was just a bit over...
The younger ones didn’t hunt everyday. But we hunted hard first two days with the four children and went the third day to a school and fed the children and village with the harvest. It was life altering for my children!! They took part in the preparation of the animals and the stew that was...
I have been able to load 175 grain swift a frame that my 7mag loves. I have used it on 5 different safaris. it also likes 168 accubond long range bullets. One shot kill on an elk at 240 yards DRT in 2022. All of these bullets that have been recommended work well. It's which one your rifle...
I too flew Dulles via Ethiopian Air. No complaints. Under 24 hours total travel both ways. I have also done the ATL to JNB and overnight then on to Windhoek. Both were good for me.
Kanati Taxidermy finished the leopard the week of the Great American Outdoor Show. I went to the show and drove up to the studio. I’m very pleased! The scar on the head is a very close resemblance to the scar on the cat’s head we got him! Great work! Thanks Kanati Taxidermy, Wes and crew!!!
I have a ram 2020 that will do all those things. It has the hemi v8. It likes every gas station. I also have a 2022 Chevy 1500 with the 3 liter diesel. Great fuel mileage and tows my 23 foot CC well.
Update—Kanati is finishing the taxidermy to hopefully display it at Great American Outdoor Show in Harrisburg, PA. Plan is for it to be there by Monday for the rest of the week!!
I too used @Yellow Shark Logistics from Namibia to coppersmith in Chicago to Kanati. Very pleased with coppersmith and yellow shark. Waiting (im)patiently for mr spots from Kanati.
I have really enjoyed the story of the two leopards. Having hunted Mr. Spots successfully, the ups and downs and the emotion is palpable in your tale (of tails). Congratulations!!
I am headed over May 20, 2023. I shot last weekend with a browning a bolt 375 H and H. on the range I shot 250 grain bullets at 125 and 300 yards. I have a simplistic VX 2 3x9x40 with only crosshairs. the rifle shot 8 of 8 at 300 yards on 4 inch gongs with no holdover type system. For me...
