Right the problem has been solved!! All it was, was too much slow burning powder trying to ignite. I went to my buddies place to test some new loads and they all went off very well and I even shot some outstanding groups. all using the same primers and powder. Albeit i have worked up a load...

All 20 of the cases with primers had the same report. I seem to remember the last tub of n165 powder i had no issues with and used the same batch of primers
  11. norfolk shooter

    Click BANG!!!

Well I do have a fresh pack of 1000 primers I can try from. Only that that's confusing me is the 20 primed cases I fired this morning all went off without an issue
  12. norfolk shooter

    Click BANG!!!

Marius it's ammo I've loaded myself. I have a feeling it may be the powder as my old tub of n165 didn't have any issues. Saying that I tried to dry the powder in my over last night. It did flow better through my fingers after about 30 mins at 45c

    Click BANG!!!

Im going to a boiler today that's doing the same
  14. norfolk shooter

    Click BANG!!!

the brass was new never fired. I use a lyman hand primer so minimal touching of primers. The volume of powder literally fills the case
  15. norfolk shooter

    Click BANG!!!

Well I have called all the suppliers I know and it seems that there are no Fed primers in the UK!! Non are due until 2028. I did just fire off all the cases I pulled and they all went off without a glitch. Got me thinking might be the powder.
  16. norfolk shooter

    Click BANG!!!

If only it ever got warm enough in the UK for that :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
  17. norfolk shooter

    Click BANG!!!

If I load the pulled ammo with no powder just the primers they all go off. That to me would say the pin is hitting hard enough. Im with the school of thought that the primers im using are just not hot enough
  18. norfolk shooter

    Click BANG!!!

Oh the hit is hard. Those primers go off no probs. But as people have mentioned not enough heat
  19. norfolk shooter

    Click BANG!!!

Who is Cindy?? Really!!!? Cindy Crawford man. The perfect primer, though be it a small mag primer not a magnum
  20. norfolk shooter

    Click BANG!!!

I might get a T shirt with that on. I like my primers like my women, magnum and hot :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
  21. norfolk shooter

    Click BANG!!!

This makes sense. I wonder if a 50BMG spec primer will do the trick?? Something tells me they are bigger though
  22. norfolk shooter

    Click BANG!!!

I dont think its the pin or spring. The rifle has hardly seen any work and I shot off some primed cases just to get the feel of it and they all went off without any issues
  23. norfolk shooter

    Click BANG!!!

So I have just pulled 20 rounds no powder clumps all smooth as Cindys legs.
  24. norfolk shooter

    Click BANG!!!

ive not pulled any ammo yet this was just out of the can. Give me a moment I shall pull a few

I have just dried my powder in the oven. Dont worry its not a gas oven. i had it in there at 40c for about 30mins to warm it through
  26. norfolk shooter

    Click BANG!!!

I use the same primers in all my other large rifle cases but I see the logic. Do y'all think the primers have got a little damp?? If so can they be dried out? Hard to find lrg mag primers in the UK
  27. norfolk shooter

    Click BANG!!!

Went to the range today to shoot my 505. Anyway had a few too many click bangs than one would want. Cases are brand new, powder is N165 135 grns of and I'm using cci mag primers. Bullet is a 525 grn. The powder charge practically fills the case so I'm ruling out a flash over. Other than that I'm...

Range days sometimes go poorly...as in Ka Boom!

Im just glad you OK @sestoppelman. I have had the same sort of thing happen on a rem 700 30-06. It was due to a heavy charge on a hand load. looking at your load it all seems ok so god know what happend but he must bee looking down on you

It also highlights that the client should drill and drill and drill rapid fire until they can operate the rifle in a smart and swift manner. Pisses me off when you can see the client hasnt put in practice on a DG hunt. Im with @grand veneur on not taking the shot with the other buff behind
