These are all nice trophies above......Sable are one of the most majestic of the Antelope anywhere... Here is one I shot in June of this year in Limpopo Province.. Horns measured 44" One frontal shot at 224 Yds. Using my Griffin and Howe 30.06. There is no Ground Shrinkage on these guys...

Daga boy, I agree with u that blue wildebeest are tuff. I shoot s 30.06 springfield and prefer that over a .308.. both are formidable calibers... Shot placement is of prime importance!!! Bob

Cam, Well certainly you were shooting a formidable caliber and bullet combo. As i stated b4 i shoot the same caliber and bullet. Yardage was not far, but brush can deflect a shot a bit and since he was not that close behind the brush and quartering toward you .... there was not a full broadside...

Cam, BTW... i am shooting a 30.06 caliber bolt action custom Griffin and Howe model 1903 Springfield which i have used b4 in SA. Have it for years, so i am very comfortable using it... Should be quite appropriate for any game i am interested in. Bob

Cam, Yes i am aware of the croc hunting technique as i have seen many shows on the outdoor channel( tracks across africa, under wild skyes)... This will be my 3rd safari in SA, so i am familiar with how they hunt there. One other thing, how are the trackers, skinners, and camp staff , food...

Cam, My list includes Wart Hog, gemsbok, crock, sable, bluewildebeeste, maybe impala. My wife will be with me as a non hunter..plan to do some extra activities.. planning on a 12 day Safari. Bob
