    Shotgun insurance for SC events?

Collectibles Insuarnce Agency----they insure a lot of odd collections, including guns, during travel, use, fire, theft, and shipping. they have been easy to work with but I've never needed to file a claim as of yet.

Finally, my Heym 89b, 577 NE

Well maybe all the 375 guys have realized that saying that is the equivalent to saying all you need is that portly somewhat homely looking gal sitting in the corner.

Finally, my Heym 89b, 577 NE

Nothing wrong with shooting Buffalo with a 577. Congrats, that’s a nice rifle. What did they regulate it with, that would be a good starting point for loads. You should try the cordite formula and get some imr 3031.

    Financially ready for a Safari?

This is a very interesting thread; I've really enjoyed reading it. I would imagine most guys, especially younger are about as ready for their first safari as they are for the birth of their first kid. I don't fault guys for having lots of nice things like boats, cars, guns.....those are all...

    Financially ready for a Safari?

If you can pay cash for it without getting behind on funding monthly bills, savings, retirement, or going into debt------go for it, regardless of the trip big or small. The trips are less fun if you are worried about the money part the whole time, worth it to put off and save a little more so...

One gun or two? On safari

Anything 375, 404, 416,....one rifle for everything, I prefer to travel as light as possible. Of course something can go wrong with one gun. But if you've really done the work with the rifle and proved to yourself it works and you trust it the chance of that is slim.

    Opinions please: Pros/Cons of .375 Ruger vs .375 H&H

There are insurance companies that cost almost nothing to insure firearms for total value, optic included if attached to gun.

    Opinions please: Pros/Cons of .375 Ruger vs .375 H&H

Look at a lot of rifles in both calibers and find the one you like. Any 375 will get the job done. I might add that if you’re into Africa the gun can be a big part of it, creating lasting memories and family possession to pass on and keep the memory alive. Don’t be afraid to spend a little...

For an African big game rifle Granite Mountain Arms is hard to beat. Also love a pre 64 model 70. If more modern is your thing the model 704 by Ed Brown is built really right….i think Bansner bought the design and is building them now.

    Reloading question for cases

Your body and neck size in your sizer die is sizing the neck down,..easiest way to solve this is to buy a case neck expander die, and run a separate operation with that before you complete brass prep. I actually do that operation before I measure and trim.

For sale here Gents is a very early production East African Model from Empire Rifles. Safari Fitness Requirements in Africa? How to hunt your way to health and fitness

I can honestly say that the better shape you are in the more you will enjoy being out "in It". Make sure your PH can cover ground, I see a lot of PH's that don't look like they could walk much further than the average Amercian. The best way to see Africa is as far away from the truck as you...

Keep it. As you age you may want to have Talley bases machined in. Had it done to my gma 416 rigby, looks great and easy to put scope on and off.

How inaccurate a double rifle when?

Hmm ya I don’t know, I’m guessing barrel steel is better now than it was a 100 years ago, as well as rifling quality. I have a Manton 470 circa 1920’s, was refurbed by hh in 2008. Takes 3 shots from each barrel to fowl from a clean bore, then I can stack the next 20 rounds visibly separated l...

How inaccurate a double rifle when?

I honestly feel like there are probably really accurate doubles out there, particularly modern manufacture from names like Heym, WR, etc. That being said most vintage guns were concerned about 1 thing, being able to shoot twice and put them in a small pie plate kill zone at close range so you...

Truck - what do you drive, and why?

Is Blaser Trying To Price Themselves Out Of The American Market???

I worked for Blaser for a bit,....they don't sell as many R8's as all you fellas think. There are gobbs of R8's and Rigby's for sale right now, and the same ones are for sale forever it seems to me. Custom rifles like G&H, Buehler, Lon Paul, Duane Weibe, the list goes on don't seem to ever...

Is Blaser Trying To Price Themselves Out Of The American Market???

I've worked in the US firearms industry for 20 years now and what is happening with prices is this,....all the luxury brands are trying to find the sweet spot of manageable production levels and max margin per item produced. they are using inflation and labor issues as an excuse. The fact that JEEP isn't at the bottom of this list negates its validity to me, I've literally had 5 times the amount of trouble with Jeeps as anything else I've ever driven, and I drive 35k miles a year for the last 25 years

I've loaded and shot the 500 J a lot, and I must say shooting a Ruger #1 in this caliber is very ambitious, recoil will be extraordinary. I'd follow the woodleigh reloading manual for loads, its good stuff, there are other sources as well like load data .com. I have experimented with many...
