This has already been addressed, but... .458 Win Mag as a Dangerous 5 rifle?

I have had a thread similar to this before, but would like to present it again for various reasons. Thoughts on the .458 Win Mag as an Elephant/Cape Buff/Dangerous 5 rifle? Wouldn't mind getting the caliber change kit for a Stevens 200, but dont want to waste my time if im gonna be bouncing...

    A question always asked..............

Thanks everyone I have taken into account everything I have been told, but have a few more questions that could possibly aid in my decision being made. What kind of accuracy could I expect with good ammo and the 458 lott in a CZ 550? That is if I do my part. I though some of you would...

    A question always asked..............

P.S.- I did some recoil calculators and with the .458 Lott it is telling me under 60 ft.lbs of recoil in a 9.5 lb gun with a muzzle velocity of 2100 fps and a bullet weight of 500 grain..........Any input on that? I think both are great cartridges, but right when I think I have decided on the...

    A question always asked..............

Thanks for the replies! I appreciate it! Now, I have a question that is gonna build off of the rifle I chose. Does anyone know whether or not CZ could convert a 416 to a 458 on the gun if I later wanted? I have been told on here that the .416 Rigby is enough to kill and elephant if I do...

    A question always asked..............

As far as big bore, I shoot lots of 12 ga slugs (which is considered to be basically a .73 cal rifle when shooting full bore slugs out of a rifled barrel). With Dixie slugs, they are over a 300 on the thornily relative stopping power scale. Recoil, I dont see being much of a problem because...

    A question always asked..............

I'm new here, but I'm sure this question has been asked over a million times. Before I ask, if you have any info that could be profitable to my question in regards to the answer, please dont hesitate to post it. Now, I'm gonna get a "Dangerous Game" rifle and cant decided on caliber. This is...
