I know this has been covered many times in other threads but I’m still a bit confused on this issue. I’m traveling to South Africa to hunt and then on to Namibia. As far as bringing ammo with me does it have to be in a factory type box marked for the caliber rifle it’s being used in? I...
Looking for an Ultra Light Arms made by Melvin Forbes in 300 Win Mag. I understand Melvin sold the business to Wilson Combat (not chambering in 300 yet) but trying to find an older model. Thanks!
I’m right with ya. I started total left handed guns in the ‘80’s so quite a few of mine are custom because that was the only choice for the caliber I wanted. I’m so used to them now I struggle with RH rifles. Shotguns, years ago I was always picking powder out of my eyes after a good day of...
Left handed rifles….can’t find a seller when you want to buy one…..can’t find a buyer when you want to sell one….nice guns, unfortunately they would also be safe queens for me.
I’m with ya Mr Rookhawk, over the years I’ve changed over all my big game rifles to left hand. Most have been ones I picked up used. Some I had built. Sometimes the length of pull on the used ones isn’t perfect but I usually can make it work. Point is, if I come across one that seems...
I have this same case. Bought it around ‘91. It doesn’t have the Cabelas name on it. Never left me down. Switched over to Pelican about six years ago. Not really sure if the Pelican is any better but I do like the wheels on it!
I’ve never had a Remington extractor problem. Maybe I’m just lucky I guess. I’ve had a few Sako extractors installed years ago because I was told how bad the Remington ones were. One thing I did think was worse was the J-lock that used to be installed. My 416 had it and my gunsmith replaced...
Both had feeding problems. The first was the 416. I sent it back to the Remington custom shop twice. They never got it right. I wound up taking it my gunsmith. He carefully worked on the feeding rails and got it right. Cost me money of course. On the 458 I sent it to two different places...
I agree with staying away from the 700 custom. I have two, one in 458 win and another in 416 rem. I bought them because they were left handed. Both went back to the custom shop twice to be fixed. The 458 was finally fixed by the Dakota shop when the Rem custom shop went belly up.
I have a Remington LH 700 in 416. But of course that’s push feed. It was a custom shop model. Never was impressed with the custom shop work but I picked it up at a pretty good price.
You’re right Ses, I really didn’t think I would ever see a refund. It was really my fault for even booking with SAA. But I didn’t realize how bad they were financially even before covid hit
I’ll sum it up for you…..went to Alaska last summer….guide looked at everyone’s rifle….when he spied a muzzle break he immediately said “you guys are getting charged double for this hunt!!!”
Up for sale in a MEC 9000 28 gauge progressive shotgun press. Real nice shape. Hardly used. Comes with 3/4 oz shot bar and one powder bushing. I have other bars and bushings if interested. $350.00 plus 50.00 shipping.
I hear ya Chondro, like I said in another post I did use my credit card to buy my SAA fare. But since I didn’t contact them to dispute the charge within 60 days I was told I was SOL. How could I dispute it if they were still flying 60 days after I bought it. But not flying when I was...
I’m guessing you contacted your credit card company in 60 days from purchase? I didn’t was pretty much told I was SOL. Trouble is SAA was still flying 60 days after my fare purchase
I’m having the same issues with SAA. I posted another thread before I saw this one. I just have one booking for myself but it’s still frustrating. I did use a credit card but did not call them in the 60 days they give you to depute the claim. I really didn’t know where this was all going...
Yea agreed, but first and foremost their customers should come first. No matter what the outcome just keep us informed. If I get screwed in this at least let me know. Guess I’m asking for too much I’m sure
Thanks, from what I just heard the South African government has agreed to bail them out again. But I’m not sure if it’s enough to keep them afloat very long. They did say there was money allocated for refunds. That’s what I’m hoping for but not holding my breath.
Has anyone heard the latest on what’s going on with this airline? I read they got bailed out again by the South African government. Unfortunately, I booked a flight with them last January and I’m still waiting to hear what the future holds. There is no one you can talk to because all the...
Don’t forget the Magnum Research BFR.....very similar to a Ruger with a few added items.....I love the free wheeling cylinder....and like Ruger they are not afraid to take a chance and chamber for some of the not so popular calibers.
