Left handed AHR DGR which was what I ordered carries a 1000 dollar premium over the right handed version. I ordered a quarter-rib too bumping it up to 7,6k as well as nitre blueing and some other extras.. But as they say, buy once - cry once. Its a lifetime investment and the inflation...

hmm Thanks for the replies! Good point about the "no hood", Ill be careful not to knock it too much. As for prices, us lefties gets gouged on a regular basis but its about half of what you would pay for a M98 custom rifle from one of the big gunmakers. More money to spend on hunting!

Looked at Winchester M70 myself but when I handled them in the store they felt cheap. The CZ felt like a solid, proper tool. The Winchester felt like it was the outcome of a budget crisis.

You will find complete dogs regardless of whether it is push feed or CRF. I too prefer a well-functioning push feed over a long-eared CRF action. If both function as they should though there are a clear advantage to having a CRF over a push.

Your personal experience may cause you to question the gospel, but your data is only based on your experience. The weapon of choice in africa have been CRF mausers for a century. Somewhere in that statement there is a point to be made.

good to hear.. Ok, great. I cant really see any flow, just (granted, lovely) pattern. Is it of great importance to have a visible grain flow through the grip neck? Wouldnt want it to break in to in the middle of an old dagga boy charge..

hm Should I be worried that the 208 blank is not structurally strong enough to accomodate a 375 H&H system though? I guess a few of the other blanks have a more "pronounced" flow on the grip section..

Will do dude, estimated time of delivery 21. August. 3 months for a custom rifle, can you believe it. No cheekpiece, slim stock, open express sights - will have it regulated for Barnes TTSX 250g ammo. Bears are already lamenting its arrival :)

Im a southpaw, so 375 H&H is the only available calibre out of the box. Suits me fine though, I wanted the Holland & Holland anyway. Wayne is great, he bends over backwards to accomodate your needs. I started off considering a CZ with the #2 upgrade and ended up with a full fat left hand 550...

yep Thanks 35bore. Will have it regulated with Barnes TTSX 250g Bullets. Should be a good shooter, wouldnt want to be at the wrong end of it.... For those interested, I also have a 7x57 on the way from Dorleac&Dorleac, in 7x57 and again express sights and nothing else. Between the two...

little update Little update here. Heym Europe does not offer left-handed versions, so I ended up ordering a AHR DGR 550 in 375 H&H left hand from Wayne Jacobson, with open H&H style front sights. Should be good.

Anyone used this company before? Im considering the #2 or #3 upgrade package for a southpaw 375H&H rifle. Basically the #3 package is a restock for a premium of 1600 dollars ( AAA Walnut). Just not sure whether to draw the line at the #2 package or if the restock is worth the extra bucks...

Thanks. Ive been looking at American Hunting Rifles - CZ Owners Going with upgrade package 2 + 1800 dollars of purchase should equal 3100 dollars.. What excactly do you get with their 7200 dollars LH offering that you dont get going this way?

Thanks nyati! Think I will go for the extended magazine! ( 185 euros, 1 extra bullet in the mag). Incredibly hard to get any info about the rifle though. Heym doesnt pick of the phone, dont reply to mails, dont have any broschures or option lists etc... Best rifles in the world! Worst...

Well the express light are only offered in safari calibers downward limited to the 300 win mag, so thats what I ordered. I doubt I will hunt game requiring a 375 where a 300 win mag wont do. Elephant aint on the meny for the foreseeable future lol, unless I sell my condo..

Spike, this had a happy ending! Ordered today, VERY REASONABLE pricing from the heym factory. 3400 euros ( 4500 dollars) for a brand new Heym Express Light M98 with three-point safety and extractor. Ordered one in 300 win.mag. Wait time 5-6 months!

OKEY! UPDATE I have called Heym now in germany. a brand new Heym Express Light in my choice of caliber is only 3400 euros! Mostly big calibers, but you could get it in 300 win mag! I am ordering it as we speak.

It depends on perspective I guess.. call Mauser USA and ask how much they want for a M98. Lets just say you could get a brand spanking new Chevrolet Camaro for the same money ( 25.000+ ) 6 grand is alot of money I agree, but a blaser R8 is what, 4 grand?
