I'm no expert, but I can't imagine Kruger Park that green in May + some of the trees look rather foreign to me, not indigenous to that area...would love to hear from a Flora expert

    New Namibia Game Meat Plant

Isn't game meat one of those things, where it tastes really great out in the bush, next to a camp fire and especially if you hunted and worked for the animal yourself and the just the whole experience around it, but I mean, there is no way game meat can compare to proper beef. So is it really...

    Leopard Attack at Hunters-Rock

Hi Jerome, Yes, sounds like the same incident. The Afrikaans papers mentioned Hunters-Rock Safaris. It sounds as though there were some brave people involved here.. I thought some of the operators from that area would know a bit more and at least if everybody is ok and doing better..

    Leopard Attack at Hunters-Rock

Does anyone have any info or news about this leopard attack at Hunters-Rock. From what I can gather from the papers the PH saved two clients lives by jumping in front of the wounded leopard and the cat was eventually shot dead by one of the trackers. Both clients injured. Is this close to the...

SOUTH AFRICA: Limpopo Plains Game Hunt with African Sky

Not sure why AH deleted my post, I was purely referring to a hunter telling locals to [ edited by AfricaHunting.com ] outside the airport. Apparently it's acceptable as his post still stands... Anyway, as I said it's no biggie, I just don't think it's the right way to start your safari. Will the...

SOUTH AFRICA: Limpopo Plains Game Hunt with African Sky

I just think giving fellow hunters advice along the line of telling people to [ edited by AfricaHunting.com ] in a country where you're a visitor, just off a plane on a hunt is rude. Yes sure, maybe some of the locals were overbearing, but just smile and wave and get on with it. I've traveled...

    MONSTER KUDU

Hi guys, As an Afrikaans speaker, here's some insight for you" This was published in a Hunting organization's news letter of some sorts, not a news paper. The Kudu was shot by the farmer himself. This may explain the questions about photo quality, as it was not a PH taking photos of a client...

    Blue Wildebeest Bullets

Goodness, I got a lot of respect for the "poor man's buffalo" this past weekend. Shot a BWB with a .375 Weatherby Magnum, frontal shot and the bullet went through the middle of the middle of the heart and he still ran about 60-70 metres! When we skinned him, the lungs etc just fell out in...

    Failed Lion Ambush (Pictures)

Hi Marius, I just read in "Die Burger" (a leading newspaper) that these photos were taken in Shamwari. Also that the Bull picked up an injury while fleeing and he was taken by the same pride that night? (kyk bietjie Burger se website) Groete, Petrie.

    Blue Wildebeest Slaughtered Weight

Hi Nico, Last week on a different forum, one of the hunters just completed a hunt where 3 bulls were hunted. Slaughtered weights were 154, 162 and 176, but on average he reckons between 145 and 155. With the good rains I think some big bodied, heavy bulls will be taken this season.

What's the hunting gear you can't live without?

Safari Chick, Apart from all the obvious, there are 3 things that saved my skin before and that I now always carry. Mostly to do with a couple of drops of rain. I've set out a number of times in blue skies only for a shower to come out of nowhere. A good scope cover, a simple plastic bag and...

    Hunting Vaal Rhebok

I agree! Mt Reedbuck is one of THE best hunts I've ever had. Whole day of climbing and glassing. Was like one big adventure. Hunting this great little animal will normally be in beautiful landscapes and the best of all (for a non trophy local RSA hunter) their meat is seriously delicious. In my...

Economy destroying the hunting industry in South Africa.

Hi Frederik, Yip, I agree, just looking at the numbers, Biltong hunting is doing extremely well. I was just looking at the average age of the SA hunter and for a fact less and less younger hunters coming through, what will happen in 15/20 years if this bread and butter segment gets...

Economy destroying the hunting industry in South Africa.

Hi Frederik, Hope you are well, I'm an Afrikaans Biltong hunter from Cape Town and will try using my best British language for this post. Even though I'm only a Biltong Hunter, I think I can safely say that I'm obsessed with hunting and everything that goes along with hunting. Nature, new...
