Illegal Land Seizures and Arnold Payne

Scott, same guy, not sure about sharing fences but he's very close. There was also a post on this forum about a year ago I think about Impala Safaris that wasn't very positive.

Ken Drummond is a hated man in Zim. I would never consider booking with him or any of his partners.

Shipping trophies from South Africa - Do not use Dip-Pack LTD

Spike, Nobody is getting back to him! What is he supposed to do? He paid for a service and didn't get the finished product! I have to agree, it sounds like you and James are shifting blame. He paid a lot of money and didn't get what he paid for. In what other business would this happen...

Shipping trophies from South Africa - Do not use Dip-Pack LTD

James, I should also add, when you're dealing with professional taxidermists and shipping agents, why should you have to go to the extent of specifying wood thickness etc. for crates? These guys are supposed to be the professionals. Also, I'm not aware of any issues of shipping crates by sea vs...

Shipping trophies from South Africa - Do not use Dip-Pack LTD

James, I have dealt with this company and had similar issues like I said earlier. I don't doubt anything Jamindux is saying and that's based on personal experience. I think your missing the point.....the guy admits it happened between Africa and the US. The problem is DipPack will not...

Shipping trophies from South Africa - Do not use Dip-Pack LTD

Mastercard came good for a crossbow I bought online a few years back from a dealer. PAid the money, and never got the bow. One thing they'll ask for is evidence...ie emails, bill of sale, etc. to back up your claim. Don;t wait though, there's timelines associated with filing a complaint!

Shipping trophies from South Africa - Do not use Dip-Pack LTD

Bottom line is that the guy paid to have his hide prepared AND delivered to the US. That didn't happen so why should he have to pay? He didn't receive the product. If I buy a TV from the furniture store and pay to have it delivered, and it's broken or stolen on the way, guess what.....I'm...

Shipping trophies from South Africa - Do not use Dip-Pack LTD

Well, I used Dip Pack last year and I would second this. Total screw up with the shipping and unwilling to accept responsibility. As a matter of fact they tried to shift the blame back to me. I also used Big Buck and there were some issues (ie damages upon delivery) but they quickly offered...

    Shipping costs from Zimbabwe

I just got a price on shipping a cape buffalo skull from Zimbabwe......$1800. Anybody else got any recent shipping quotes from Zim, and if so, do they sound ridiculous?

    tick expectations?

Thanks Marius. It lasted quite a while last time, so it's good to hear it gets less and less. (hopefully).
  17. B

    tick expectations?

So, once you get tick fever, can you get it again, or do you become immune? Both my hunting partner and I contracted it last year so I'm just wondering.

    Another Ph/outfitter question on quotes

Bill, there's absolutely nothing wrong with shopping around and throwing numbers back so that outfitters have a second chance. If it's not worth their while, they'll tell you and may be able to provide an explanation of why there's is still the better hunt despite the price. That's the beauty of...

    Another Ph/outfitter question on quotes

Maybe I wasn't clear in what I was trying to say. The initial question was would outfitters appreciate a chance to provide a better offer if the client received a better quote from another outfitter. My point was that the outfitter could possibly sweeten the deal by offering some bonus items...

    Another Ph/outfitter question on quotes

There are other ways the deal could be sweetened without breaking the outfitter's bank. Why not throw in gun rental for free, or give a steep discount on an observer rate so the guy can bring his wife or a non hunting buddy? What about adding a few cull animals? I know most outfitters hate being...

    Not happy with my trophies

That yellow tint on the skull is fat coming out of the bone. The skulls weren't properly degreased and it looks like they boiled the #$%^ out of them in a caustic causing the bone to deteriorate. What's with the chunks of fat/meat still attached??? Really, that taxidermist should be ashamed and...

    Limpopo this 2012 hunting season

I hunted with Nic last year. He'll work hard to get your animals for you. I have nothing but good things to say and my wife and I had a good hunt. I understand he has a couple of good properties to hunt this year as well. Please post a hunt report when you return.
