What are the (legal) obligations of South Africa outfitter to client in Zimbabwe?

Back to one of my original questions- is there a 6 month expiration on the export permit for a lion and if so what can be done/ needs to be done after the 6 month window?

What are the (legal) obligations of South Africa outfitter to client in Zimbabwe?

We are upset and very disappointed- there has hardly been a day that goes by that we don't think about all of this, but being angry gives them the power. Anger does us no good and takes away from any good experience we had while we were there. We believe God is a just God and vengeance is His...

What are the (legal) obligations of South Africa outfitter to client in Zimbabwe?

The outfitter, Johan, did pay the Zim concession- the problem is that they did not act legally and deposit it in the bank as they should have. Instead they kept the money for themselves- supposedly putting back into the camp but no matter. We are upset with Johan because he knew better than to...

What are the (legal) obligations of South Africa outfitter to client in Zimbabwe?

Yes Jerome, sorry, I started a message that I said these were the right people but my computer froze and lost the message so I had to do it again. Yes, the Johan and Danie you listed are the correct ones. Yes it is also Benkoe Lions that you listed. They were very professional with us and gave...

What are the (legal) obligations of South Africa outfitter to client in Zimbabwe?

Thanks Jerome, we have been reluctant to spread their names around because we feel like if they get angry we will lose any thread of goodwill that could possibly be left. We feel like hostages. My hunting partner, Don, was with us on all 3 of these trips too and he now says that a part of him...

What are the (legal) obligations of South Africa outfitter to client in Zimbabwe?

I'd like to say how this all went down. Hunt #1 Aug 2010 we went with the outfitter, Johan Swart, that my hunting partner recommended since he used him the year before. Had a fantastic hunt and these people were so personable and treated you like family. So we went and had a good time and good...

What are the (legal) obligations of South Africa outfitter to client in Zimbabwe?

Need to hire/need help with getting SA trophies As many of you know we had many problems with our recent hunting experience and I'm looking for some help in getting our trophies. We hunted in SA this past summer and paid our PH, who was also our outfitter for this trip. We had serious problems...

What are the (legal) obligations of South Africa outfitter to client in Zimbabwe?

The Zim PH we hunted with died about 6 months after our hunt. Our SA outfitter said he wasn't getting a hold of him to get the TR2 and went up there to investigate. When he found out the PH died, he tried contacting his family members to get a hold of the TR2 but they couldn't locate it. I don't...

What are the (legal) obligations of South Africa outfitter to client in Zimbabwe?

We are not people to quickly spread negative comments about others. We have struggled with our issues in Africa and have been trying to give the benefit of the doubt in trying to make sense of what has happened. We do not feel it is appropriate or fair to "name names" in haste. There is a old...

What are the (legal) obligations of South Africa outfitter to client in Zimbabwe?

We are continuing to undergo heartbreak and disappointment regarding our 2011 hunt in Zimbabwe. We were taken aback by a recent email from our outfitter and now want to know from those of you who are in the know, what the outfitters obligations are. The situation is as follows: We hunted in...

SOUTH AFRICA: Are These Outfitter Issues Unusual

I just wanted to give an update to our trip to Zim last year since we've had a lot of people ask about it. It seems that we won't be seeing the trophies from that hunt (I had an elephant). It seems the concession owners didn't deposit the money in the bank but instead used it themselves. We...

WANTED: Time sensitive SA hunt wanted

We are currently in Madikwe and had a change in our hunting plans which is giving us 2 days of free time before our next destination of Vryburg. We drug our PH along :biggrin2: to Madikwe so we are a bit out of his normal territory. Wanted to check with the good folks here to see if anyone has a...

    recoil affecting accuracy

Thanks guys!!!!! I would have never guessed that you could shoot good groups and then change poi that much with a different hold. Norwegianwood if you lived closer I would take you out for steaks. I've been fighting this problem for 2 years. I always hit low off hand. I thought I was...

    recoil affecting accuracy

I have a 375 RUM that will group under 1/2 inch at 100 yards off the bench out of a led sled. I took it to a 400 yard range and it would group under 4 inches off the roof of my pickup but it was 9 inches lower then I thought it should be. When I got home I shot it off the bench again and it...

Recoil lug thickness on 416 Rigby

The barrel is shiny just ahead of the lug where it is bedded and the lug itself is stainless so its hard to tell but it seems like there has been movement. I don't know if this is normal on the lug or not. It looks like where the back screw goes into the receiver it has squeezed into the...

Recoil lug thickness on 416 Rigby

I built a 375 RUM and a 416 Rigby on Remington 700 actions and I'm having trouble with consistency on my groups. The gunsmith used standard thickness recoil lugs and I was wondering if it was possible if the lug is flexing under the recoil causing inconsistency in the groups.

TSX in 270 and 300 Win.

I was wondering if anyone has used the 130 tsx in the 270 Win. or the 180 tsx in the 300 Win. They shoot great in both rifles, but after shooting 2 deer with the 270 (running deer not perfect placement) got the job done but I question expansion on small game, like springbok at long range...

Anyone travel through Amsterdam with firearms from the States?

Traveling through Amsterdam would save us $1000 per ticket- so enough to take the option seriously. It would be through KLM all the way through to JRO so @spike.t this might work for us since it would be the same airline. I wonder if some of the people who had problems followed the system in...

Thanks for the reply I will look into Miles. I have now been looking at British Columbia the coast and Islands seem a bit expensive but just off the coast seems like a good combination of price and size of bears. Does anyone have any good or bad reports of a lodge hunt in this area.

    Building new trophy room

I know ideally we would have little to no windows in the room we want to keep the trophies in but we have a great view to the west (which includes some deer that seasonally live here). Our goal is a welcoming, hang-out kind of room that happens to have trophies in it and not the "look at me...

Bullets for Lion in 375 Rum

I am working up a load for lion in my 375 Rum. I have only hunted with TSX in this cal. I know that a TSX would work but from my experience penetration is fantastic and it is a sure killer. My issue is that it is not a fast killer it leaves a small hole. It is a great bullet for big animals...

Permits and trophy fees in Botswana

    Lion hunts in RSA

I hadn't checked the site in a while and was very surprised to see the mess I had started. My personal feeling is that there are plenty of people outside the hunting community to get mad at us for what we are doing. We need to be respectful of others for there beliefs. I asked the original...

Choice between 2 rifles for Africa

I think that both would work fine, with the 270 wsm you would want premium bullets as it is quite fast for the ranges you will see in Limpopo. The ammo issue is something to consider I had my 416 Rigbys taken on last year good thing it was on the return trip. If you like one gun better than...

    SHOTGUN: o/u or pump?

My vote would also have to be for the pump. As you said you will only be able to have one shotgun a pump is definitely the most versatile. As you have a need you can buy more barrels. In Iowa we have to hunt deer with a shotgun and I have shot 20-30 this way, today with sabots and rifled barrel...

    Anyone hunted Tete, Mozambique area?

Its our understanding that Moz recognizes RSA PH's so not needing a Moz PH. It's too bad about the ivory but I was hoping the buff were good and at least fairly plentiful. I've read a lot of articles saying the animal pop really took a hit a few years back and wondering how much it has recovered.
