The biggest issue I have had with the normal homeowners insurance policy is that, at best, you might get the market value for the mount i.e. go to Ebay and see what a shoulder mount sells for. Hint... pennies on the dollar. If the mount is damaged beyond repair, you have lost the taxidermy...

The oil in the tan is probably leached out and caused the paint to flake. It could be a LOT worse !! I recognize that style of ear paint and have 99% idea who did the mount. He is starting to show his face around a little more publicly but still in a sink hole with his work.

Interesting. I've done some metallic finishes on a few things with basically metallic paints and different rub-on finishes etc. The polished horns add a dramatic effect for sure.

You've waited this long and it seems you are getting close to having them. Might I suggest you actually wait until they arrive as the measurements could vastly differ based on the forms used by each taxidermist especially coming from Africa where they make a lot of their shop forms.

For all 'the special" you have going on in your trophy room, the current buffalo plaques are bringing you down :LOL:. Stepping up the buff plaques game with a few of these, you will be in AAA+ territory.

That's same place I was going to send them to but OP never came back to answer where they were located or how big horns they wanted. Atlantic Corral Imports only have small to medium horns and won't be much good if OP isn't in the US...
