    Coriolis

Actually, it will also affect shots bearing 0 and 180 degrees, but in a horizontal direction, as your target is moving with the earth while your projectile is in flight.

    Double rifle jammed shut

A cautionary tale, to be sure. I try to keep only the powder I am currently using on my bench. All the rest are in a metal cabinet. Too easy to make a serious bang. That being said, you can never have too many loading manuals, either. I have found serious errors, but fortunately, my education...

Bullet Selection for Leopard and Crocodile

Am I the only one who read that he's looking for suggestions for a 338, not a 375?

Some testing I did on .22 ammunition

I did a test some years ago using several different rifles, including a Savage bolt and an Armscor M1600. Fiocchi beat a wide variety of brands and types by q significant margin. Testing was blind- my wife loaded the mags, so I had no idea what I was shooting during the testing.

    Another CZ550 .375 owner!

Hmmm- every time I buy the 'wrong' scope, my wife buys something to put it on...... A wife that shoots- a blessing & a curse. No problem convincing her a 'need' a firearm, but I gotta get two....

Camp guns, what do you take?

Marlin 1895GBL 45-70, and a Rock Island 1911 in 10mm. The Rock goes everywhere with me; too many two legged varmints in my neck of the woods....

I agree; your writing style of clear language conveyed without embellishment is like a buffet of various delicacies, each sentence a treat! Greatly enjoyed!

Auction Find. Colt Army 1917 45ACP revolver

My wife's favorite is a S&W 1917 Brazilian (2nd contract) manufactured (if I recall correctly) late 1930's. Great shooter, quite accurate and happily devours 230gn ball.

    Hornady GS-1500 Electronic Scale Alert

My experience, digital scales, unless that are lab quality, are crap. Even a cheap Lee has better R&R then a digital. Don''t trust any scale unless you've done this: http://www.muelaner.com/quality-assurance/gage-r-and-r-excel/

    Left Handed shooters club!

My local Cabelas has a Browning A Bolt LH in 375HH, and a Remington 700LH in 458WM. They also have a CZ550 Magnum in 500 A-Square, but in RH, in case anyone has problems with Brontosaurus in their garden..... As for me, just a couple in Remington 700's, one in .223 and one in 338WM; neither...

    Hornady Superformance Powder for reloading?

Lots of extra recoil for a modest increase in MV; it's just a marketing hype for people who worry about 150-200 FPS boost.

    Lefty Shooting a Double Rifle

I share your pain, Brett. Learning to shoot all over again, replacing your battery with lefties. Tough to do; old habits die hard....

    New calibre approved

It could be worse- I have almost no problem convincing the wife why I need another rifle, but by the time I'm done, I have to buy her one, too. Same with expensive flyrods....;)

    Who reloads.....and why?

Having blown up a couple of pistols due to an error in a reloading guide (and my naivety) my best advice is get as many manuals as possible. Many are available on-line, and I know of one paid internet site (loaddata.com) which is an excellent source. If I find a fair number of recipes that seem...

    Wilson Combat 10mm 1911

I've heard reference to 200 grain hardcast lead pills for bear loads, but for me, if I'm in bear country, the 1895 in 45-70 seems like a good choice to me. I carry my 10mm Rock Island 1911 daily for 'vermin'....

About to go on Cape buffalo hunt, guns and calibers?

I suppose someone will bust my chops for my avatar on my first post.... you can't see my eyes... I guess if everyone is going to get their shorts in a twist over a photo, I suppose we should also get worked up over people using something other than their legal name own their posts, too....
