Almost exactly the same set up for me from Dennis Olson as well. It's been a great rifle. I also have a 24" barreled Lon Paul 404 that's just a little heavier due to the stock configuration. I cant tell any difference in barrel length when handling the two.

Take it for what’s it’s worth - do not shoot a high velocity 300 mag with an expanding bullet like a 180 Nosler partition or accubond at close range (60 yds or less) and expect good results. Use the Aframe 200 grain or make sure you’re 75 yds or further.

I enjoy both RMR and SRO optics. I like the SRO sight picture better. But the RMR seems significantly more rugged and combat worthy to the extent that matters on the weapon the optic is intended for.

I recommend not using a partition out of a 300 magnum (or other high velocity caliber) at around 50 yards on any game, specifically including thin skinned cats. I’m only speaking to use of the partition at high velocity at relatively close range. Just don’t do it.

Vaughn Whitehead Wilson is blue chip for hunting leopards with hounds in Zim. I think you can either hire him separately to bring his hounds or book the entire hunt through him (probably preferred). But if you're thinking of hounds in Zim, he's definitely one of the best.
